I doubt trevor ariza could make any difference in todays game tho. For two main reasons, one is the game is more offense minded and defense is not really cared all that much anymore, a players offensive talents are seen better compared to his defensive talents, you can't really defend people like you did in 2009, you can still defend them (marcus smart, pat bev, kawhi etc) but its not as hard as when Ariza was good. Second and main reason is that, dude got 10 years older compared to 2009, he can't be still a great player at that level anymore, watch his games in the previous 2-3 years and you will see that last time he was good was when he played for the rockets, ever since he left rockets he hasn't been as good as he used to be.

his stats were good with the Rockets, and that was an offensive team.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/arizatr01.html

That means he can still contribute to the team, though teams are more focus on offense but defense is also necessary.
Warriors in the past are one of the best offensive team but their defense is also outstanding.

Thanks for the correction, I thought he never won a championship..

It is more better for the Blazers now since he has big experience in the NBA, this guy is legit, he can bring much energy on the floor and his team will play defense which I believe that's what the Blazers needed for a very long time already.

No problem.
Yes, they might really be a better team now. They just need to show it.

Might just need a lilttle boost.
Sure he is 10 years older now but that doesn't mean he doesn't have that experience which the Blazers roster have.
I doubt they took him just to be traded again. There might be a real reason for that.

Offense minded as you say, Blazers have that which is why they will need a balance for now.
It doesn't work since power house teams are included unlike last year.
They already have Lillard and CJ to do that offense but how about the other part? Someone must do the stops.

Here is one good reason and will quote some of it.
Quote
The real reason for the trade is likely the most obvious one -- it brings in a player who may be a better fit than the ones who left, while saving the team $12.3 million. The team may be slightly more competitive with a 6-8 small forward, who at one time was a solid 3-and-D player, while making the payroll a bit more responsible.

I don't get why this topic loves Utah Jazz this much, for example Grizzlies have been on a 7 win streak as well which is even more astonishing because these guys were at 9th spot, even at 10th spot at one point but now they are about 2 games away from the 9th spot and managed to secure a spot at playoffs for this time being.

They are on the 8 spot by this time and their winning streak was snapped by the Pelicans.
Maybe a 10 or more games winning streak from a bottom seed teams would typically catch their attention. I was even surprised why the name Ja Morant wasn't in a hot discussions lately. I mean this rookie is something special he's so athletic, make his own shot, and can do assist.
This kid this creating his own destiny, he's been part of many highlights after Luka being centered now this rookie sensation is making his way
to be noticed. He's not just a scoring but same with Luka he also have the skills both inside outside and importantly he have a good eyesight
finding his teammates.

Well it's been a great night everyone. Damian Lillard got 61 career high points. We didn't saw that coming. And don't tell me that they're just up against the warriors that's why he got that. No man, the team was blank because of how many key players that went injured and that includes CJ McCollum.

Next stop, it's the Celtics vs Lakers. 107-139, AD is back yet I guess not fully or probably they just underperformed that game. AD ends the game with just 9 and didn't shot a lot. With them underperforming, the other side of the court, the Celtics are just money on everything. Tatum was 5/8 beyond the arc and scored 27 points to bring the W. If you can see, none of the Lakers got past 20 scores and the Celtics have 3 of them. What's significant in this game was Kemba is 1-28 now against LeBron James. Since then he never get to pull of the w against the team where LBJ was in.

Yeah, i thought AD wasnt there if you do look at on Lakers rotations and paint offense which do really have that hesitance.
When you do look on Lakers which they arent really on their condition to play or Celtics were just good on that game?
You can really see the gap until the end of the game.

Players who complain about their pay check could still be good players, I mean at the end of the day if you deserve to be paid, you deserve to be paid. Kevin Durant took a pay cut to play at warriors and he wasn't a "professional", sure he played amazingly and he probably practices very hard but his professionalism is basically his twitter feuds with everyone in the world. Kyrie never wanted more money, he is happy to share the spotlight with Kevin Durant for example and yet dude basically is the craziest player ever known in NBA history.

You can ask for money if you really think you deserve it, just go out there and give your best every single night and work hard at practices and listen to your coaches, basically do all you have to do and then ask for a good contract if you feel like it, nobody would blame if. Asking for a good contract is only bad if you are a bad player who doesn't deserve a good contract.

Yeah as if there was a new man on the team and they are finding ways on how to cope on everybody's playstyle. Remember what injury Davis had? I barely remember that. Or this could be just a bad game for them. No excuse, there's no coming from their shots, literally just a bad game.

They really have that hole in the center and looking on Enes Kanter performance which cant really be stopped plus main liners of Celtics
is doing pretty well ,Tatum+ Walker+ Brown. Injuries do really have that kind of psychological fatigue that can heavily affect your play
and that what makes the game so hard to control.

Really a bad game for the Lakers while at the same Celtics are no doubt in good shape. Bottom line, no excuse for Lakers why they lose.

See the effort of Lakers trying to narrow down the lead but Celtics are insanely nailing consecutive shots even majority of those are contested.

And anyone knows "Jaylen Green"? lol. I just noticed it on the 4th.

And anyone knows "Jaylen Green"? lol. I just noticed it on the 4th.

I didn't realize it at first but when I watch the highlights, it's the commentator saying Jaylen Green instead of Jaylen Brown. Too much offensive power was shown from these 2 guys to the point that the commentator itself mixed it up lol.

Not a Lakers fan here but in a matter of Game 7 series, this Celtics will be owned by the Lakers.

Lol, at the Jaylen Green, probably they all mixed it up because the C's is thrashing the Lakers very bad.

I would agree that it was really a bad night, specially their outside shooting. On the other hand, Celtics is hitting everything they throw in the basket. Lakers started good, but when Celtics caught fire, Lebron and team has no answer, even Kanter is dominating them from the paint.

10 NBA Players Most Likely to Get Traded Before the Deadline

The 2019 NBA trade deadline wasn’t blockbuster-heavy -- and not nearly as dramatic as 2018, when the Cavs blew up their roster in the name of clinging to LeBron -- but it did feature a number of noteworthy names heading to new teams. Markelle Fultz, Nikola Mirotic, Harrison Barnes, and Iman Shumpert were among those NBA players who changed addresses.

Or this could be just a bad game for them. No excuse, there's no coming from their shots, literally just a bad game.

That was funny. Who was the commentator? Is it Marv Albert? Sorry I haven't watched the game yet.
But lately I have been hearing errors with Marv in speaking names of players.

He might have been reading a lot about this.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2872195-5-star-g-jalen-green-denies-pro-basketball-rumors-i-am-going-to-college
Which is why he is making errors. Or he could be just jumbling names with Danny and Jaylen.  Grin That was hilarious for both are colors.  Cheesy

Looking at the stats 5 players have double digits score and most of them have 20+. They even let Kanter score 18 with just 24 minutes of game time.

Something to watch for, this is the moment that I am waiting and see if these poor teams can still catch up with the remaining games of the season.

Derrick Rose to be traded again, wow.. how many teams he already played so far?

Markieff Morris - this guy is good, he will be useful for the Rockets, (this team needs another scorer)

Kevin Love to Portland and that would be a great improvement to the team, I'll bet on them to win in the west,

Maybe this is the biggest trade this year, if Love would go with the Blazers, then they would not heavily rely on the CJ and Lillard on their offense, imagine with Love with them, a big man who can score not only in the inside but he can also shoot 3s consistently.

Love will definitely a good addition in their line up. Although i'm not hoping they will make it to Western Finals, atleast they still have a chance to take a playoff spot. Derrick Rose is also in the list and possibly landing in Lakers or Sixers. It won't be a problem for Lakers since he is on a bargain but he is more possible to land at Sixers. You know, Lebron James thing. Anyway, wether Lakers or Sixers, Rose has a chance to get a ring now. I really wanted to see this guy to have atleast 1 ring and now is the chance for him to be in a contender team.

Right, it would be a big improvement on the Blazer's lineup. Since Love can dominate the inside, Lillard and CJ can focus on scoring and playmaking.

Agree, they will also have another scoring options, instead of relying heavily on CJ and Lillard to some extend to Anthony. I mean Kevin is still young, at 30's and can still compete with young power forwards we have right now.

And as you have said, he also evolved with 3's, shooting consistently, day in day out.

Rose has a higher chance of getting a ring if he go to the Lakers.

As for Kevin Love, any team that will get win will be upgraded for sure specially in the middle. He will be a great asset if ever he will land on Portland. He also had that experience winning a ring, definitely a plus for Blazers.
