Who would’ve thought that Detroit would be the one advancing to the next round, while the Celtics get eliminated from the playoffs? I honestly expected the 8th-seeded Magic to upset the 1st-seeded Detroit.
Good thing Jalen Duren stepped up big time, dropping 30 points in this Game 7. Throughout the entire series, I don’t think Duren even reached 15 points until now, so that performance really came out of nowhere.
As for the Celtics, they probably could have beaten the 76ers if Tatum wasn’t injured. But then again, they’ve played without him during the regular season and still managed to secure a top 2 seed in the East. That’s why it’s also surprising that they ended up losing this series to the Sixers.

Magic seemed to have the better chance since the Pistons were not really battle-tested in the playoffs, but they already proved they are for real. Being the number 1 team in the East and now advancing to the 2nd round, I think they will face a much tougher challenge, so let’s see.

As long as the roster stays healthy, they have a good chance.
And if they make it to the NBA Finals, I’d probably bet on them if they face OKC Thunder.

I'm rooting the Knicks to win it all in the East. They almost clinch to the NBA Finals if they just didn't get defeated by the Pacers last season, but now they have another chance to do it.

My prediction is correct, and I think that's the obvious choices as well. Pistons and Cavaliers won in Game 7 and they didn't disappoint their fans just like what the Celtics did. The Sixers are a dangerous team, and has a chance to win it all in the East, but the problem with them is Embiid can't stay healthy, and while he played for the majority of the first round against the Celtics, we don't know how healthy he is in the upcoming rounds or can he stay healthy because we know that the success of this team depends on how healthy Embiid is.

As for the West, I don't think there's any team that could defeat the Thunder right now, and if there's a closest, it's only the Spurs. Lakers? I'm afraid they might get swept by the Thunder with or without Luka. I can still remember what Shannon Sharpe said a year ago. "OKC, KFC, UFC, Lakers in 5!!!". Great second round match up, for the series between the Cavs and Pistons. I will go with the Cavs here, specially if Mitchell and Harden can make it as a duo. They also have 2 big men that can contribute in Allen and Mobley. The Pistons will have to make it close though if they want to win and have their supporting cast be ready as the Cavs second unit is deep as well.

As for the Sixers vs Knicks, it goes down how healthy Joel Embiid is. If he is at least 80-90%, then their chances are high. The Knicks have a lot of body that they can throw on Maxey so that is going to be a interesting match up on how Maxey can still play his usual game.

It’s a valid point since Spurs manage to beat OKC back to back on their regular season game but OKC manage to get a revenge win against Spurs on their last match up that gives OKC an assurance that the6 can beat OKC despite losing to this team in the past.

Spurs is a good match up against OKC since Wemby dominated Chet while the rest of the Spurs first 5 player like Castle and Vassell can face OKC tough defender and at the same time they have Fox that can match SGA. Both team are built the same and might be a good rival for a many years because all of them are young.

We’ve already seen what they can do. This team is not really that different from the others, they just love shooting from the outside. Luckily for them, they caught fire in Game 7 and had that huge run, which is why they were able to take it.

Against the Pistons, I think it will be tougher, but I still like the edge in experience since Mitchell and Harden have already been in the playoffs many times, even if they’ve also had their failures. So I guess they still have a chance to beat the number 1 team in the East.

They are already choking on their Raptors opponents. They are lucky for having good 6th man player Max Strus that step up his game when everyone is struggling.

The problem with Cavs is their turnovers and forced attacking the paint that can easily counter with a tough defense since only same player keep doing that same penetration attack. Harden and Mitchel is a complete choker when their 3 point short is not working. They don’t have defense that makes them useless both ends.

I want Piston more to win instead of Cavs.

What they need to do is proper preparation to enhance their chemistry more better and they can able to practice well their plays. The good news about NBA playoffs is there’s no dominant team that can give a higher chance of winning since all of the remaining team are a great contender for the title and deserves their spot.

Both East and West will have a very tough 2nd round and conference finals on this playoffs unlike before the OKC is very formidable even on the first round of playoffs while currently there’s Spurs that can give them a hard time.

It’s a matter now on what team can stay healthy until the end to be victorious on this year title.

That was a the fastest execution of a head coach I had ever seen in the NBA.
Their series just ended and they fire him. Usually they have a conference to talk it over but it sounds as if they did it right after the loss to the series yesterday.
It was a great run that Orlando had nearly taking out the 1st seed in the East and with them being the 8th seed taking them to a game 7 was no small feat.
For his replacement, I think they will probably assign one already working within the organization or an assistant coach.
But now they have all summer to figure it out.

I also saw this news and not surprising. That whenever a team has fell short of what they're trying to qualify with, they'll replace their coaches. It is their solution for most teams. Even with coaches that have been with these good teams, they're suddenly firing them too.

Pistons winning was 100% for sure because Wagner was injured. But in any case Pistons needs to recover from that and start doing better, now they are going to face Cavs and that is not really a hugely troubled team neither, so in normal cases Pistons should win, a first seed that did that great during the regular season should not have trouble.

With the way it looks right now, we could say that it does not look that great for the teams at the moment and we could see some changes.
