This is going to sound like a weird question, but:

Which bitcoin debit cards (if any) have just the magstripe and not the chip?

That's a very specific question. If you need such a card I'd suggest you contact the providers to get the right answer. It's not easy for users to figure out technical details.

Any user who has the card in hand can simply look at it and answer this...
Sure thing, but you'd receive answers more reliably by trying to get information from the source.

It has to be because of sanctions, sucks for the people like you. I hope that not being able to use bitcoin debit cards hasn't been a huge issue for you. Are there any alternative ways to cash out your bitcoins or use them to shop online?

I never had any issues honestly , I don't really shop online , If I do It's only for buying from Steam (they started Bitcoin as a payment method since a few months now) I also know some people who I sell them Bitcoin for my local currency so cashing out isn't hard. Another alternative would be to trade them for PayPal,Skrill or Neteller and shop online.

Good to know that you're getting by. Funnily enough, here in Greece local buying and selling isn't something you can find easily. But then again, the fact that we have access to more advanced services like bitcoin debit cards might be a contributing factor to that.

I think i would like to have a debit card but the problem if it is compatible to my country do you have any thread here with complete list of country compatible.. also the fee for every withdraw or deposit in any different atm machines..
My place is philippines.. and i hope there is some debit card that can widely use..
If you want a physical card and it ships to your country, it'll likely work with most if not all POS terminals and ATMs, doesn't hurt to try. Fees vary per card but the most common one is when you convert from BTC to FIAT.

Uquid has posted a tutorial with pictures on how to verify Paypal accounts with their virtual debit card:
https://uquid.com/blog/2016/11/how-to-make-verify-your-paypal-account-with-virtual-debit-card

From my experience there's quite a bit of demand for an easy way to verify paypal accounts and Uquid is ideal for that. I've personally verified a new Paypal account with their virtual card and it worked wonders.

Also, feel free to check the OP for a way to get a free card.

What do you mean by that? Cold storage as in letting money stay in the card's balance? If that's what you're after then you should look for cards that let you load them by depositing (contrary to live conversion).

I will give that a try, I have a verified paypal business account but my credit card has expired a while ago and if I can add a debit card would be a good thing for me.

I currently only hold a xapo debit card which works fine for it's purpose and I can instantly withdraw my coins through it.  Smiley

Coinsbank has a unique Black Friday deal. All psysical cards except their premium while named card cost 0.95 $/€ and most countries also qualify for free shipping. Here's the fee table and list of countries that qualify for free delivery for reference:

Remember that Coinbank's cards use their own rates and can be loaded either with USD/EUR/RUB or BTC (that will be converted live) from account balances.

Has anybody else spotted any black Friday discounts related to bitcoin debit cards and payment services? Coinsbank's offer seems very tempting but if you're after shopping with the physical card they'll be sending you won't get it in time for black Friday. Cheesy

Haven't seen any for black friday. But Cryptopay seems to have an ongoing promotion for giving out free physical bitcoin cards using their promo code when ordering. Now I don't know if shipping is free but if it is then you have nothing to lose with ordering one from them.

Can anyone else give their personal option in using their cards and service?

Their fees appear pretty standard at first sight (1% load, 1€/$ monthly) but their exchange rates are not competitive at all. Their buy rate is usually more than 3% worse than the standard market exchange rate and given that you'd have to use their rate whenever you load the card it acts like a hidden fee. Of course it's not actually hidden since they display it clearly on their home page but it isn't something you notice at first sight.

Other cards can give you better value for money, but if you're after a free debit card to use for whatever reason then I guess that their promotion would suit your needs.

The ATM withdrawal fee is $ 9.95? I get it right? It seems very expensive. Where do I see the list of countries supported to receive the card in Coinsbank? Forgive me my ignorance, but I'm living a nightmare. Many bitcoin debit cards are not supporting my country Mozambique.

Uquid Is very good and I'm going to use their virtual card to make purchases. But I face a problem. Sometimes I try to login and say: "Login failed. Please correct your credentials input." But the data is correct. Did this last week and then it was okay, I was able to login without any problems. But today i have the same problem, I can not login."Login failed. Please correct your credentials input."  I will contact their support to find out if the problem is with me or with them.

What browser are you using? I've noticed that a few popular Firefox plug-ins interfere with some of the website's functionalities so this could have to do with your issue. Are you facing the same problem from Google Chrome?

For me, two of the best services are CoinsBank and CryptoPay. With a little advantage of CryptoPay.
At the moment of deposit on CoinsBank account, Bitcoin is converted automatically (live). In CryptoPay I can convert Bitcoin when I want do that (for example when the price is good for me)

You can also do the same in Coinsbank. You can deposit bitcoin and let it sitting in your account balance or trade it to FIAT and let those in your account balance. Debit cards in Coinsbank can be set to draw money from either FIAT accounts or BTC accounts (in which case conversion will be live at the time of paying with the card). Play around with the setting and you'll see that Coinsbank offers a very nice toolset for debit cards in their platform.

Great list....great help....thanks a lot .
You're welcome!  Smiley

Here are some web-stores that host black friday deals and have free shipping worldwide.

The catch: you can only spend your bitcoins on their Black Friday deals with the use of a bitcoin debit card

Gearbest, a relatively new Chinese retailer with warehouses all over the world:
http://www.gearbest.com/m-promotion-active-263.html

Aliexpress, the biggest retail marketplace for Chinese products:
http://sale.aliexpress.com/black_friday_2016.htm

Banggood, similar to Gearbest, Ships directly to NL:
http://deals.banggood.com/deals/edm/topic/2016blackfriday.html

 Shocked

Is there no bitcoin debit card that supports my country? What a stressful situation.

yesterday i tested with opera mini  and Google Chrome, But last week I tested with: Google Chrome, opera mini and mozilla firefox. The results were the same "Login failed. Please correct your credentials input."  Luckily they have solved the problem, their support was very fast and efficient.

But I came across another problem:

Restricted countries
Unfortunately, Uquid cannot issue nor ship the Uquid Prepaid Visa Card to users who reside in the following countries:
( In order to get a virtual debit card you should change your country out of this listing)

 Shocked Shocked

Until I have a virtual card I have to use another country. Oh God!

Given that most bitcoin debit cards are issued by the same two or three banks, you might want to start looking for alternatives if you can't find one easily.

Uphold seems to have started offering a virtual Mastercard service. This is very new and I just bumped onto it so I didn't have the time to look into the service, but feel free to look into it on your own.

https://uphold.com/en/blog/posts/uphold/spend-uphold-money-anywhere-mastercard-r-is-accepted

Edit: so the service is a virtual prepaid card. USD but available worldwide. The fee is a bit of a turnoff for me though, 3% upon creation. This would be good for a disposable card service but then again Uphold requires extensive account verification so I don't think that there's going to be much demand use for a service with so limited potential use cases when there are significantly more competitive alternatives.

I've been monitoring the Wirex/E-coin thread for the past weeks and some really suspicious activity has been reported by users. Many users are being unable to see funds loaded in their account, and others are unable to withdraw. Most calls for support go unanswered until users go public with their complaints. Seeing as to how other bitcoin services have silently pulled a MtGox on users with big balances we have to be extra cautious.

I'm putting Wirex/E-coin in the quarantine list and would advise everyone to stay away from their services UPDATE: see here. Here's a list of quotes from Wirex/E-coin users reporting faults in their service recently:

They are having issues with their bank. Their bank said I had reached my lifetime limits too even tho I never spent more than a few hundred dollars with my real card. Nevertheless, I contacted their support, Alena took my case and after a few days of working with the bank she successfully could transfer my funds in BTC so I could move them. I think Wirex is stuck with issues with the bank and they are trying hard to fix them.

Alena keeps transferring my support requests to other people.
Other people keep telling me LIES about card limits.
I keep saying I had a BRAND NEW EURO card that wouldn't even load 410 EURO.
I am at the point that I am telling her to stop allowing her workers to LIE to me, give me my money back.
I am now accusing them of scam excuses and stealing.  I keep asking for my money back, and they keep lying about card limits.
I explain that I do not want to load any more cards.  I just want my money back.

They won't give it back.
HELP!

Hello

I am a customer of e-coin.
e-coin has taken my money.  410 Euros, and 252.40 USD

I have deposited bitcoin then attempted to transfer to virtual cards, not exceeding the monthly or daily limits.
The Euro card was new with no limits used for the day or month.  I tried to load the cards and received an "unknown error...."
The money was taken and not returned to my account or put on my virtual cards.

I contacted support, and was told I have reached a "lifetime limit".
I am guessing my account itself as an overall limit?  This is a NEW LIMIT e-coin created???
Because a brand new, unused EURO card was not letting me load.  I reached no daily or monthly limits.

The error message did not say I reached a limit.
It said unknown error.

I have an emergency, I must pay bills.
They said I reached a limit and did NOT return my bitcoins!   They are telling me I have to do all this verification now.  Stalling me.  I don't have time for this.  Virtual cards did not require verification in the past year.  I need to pay overdue bills NOW.  I need my money back so that I can have them back and find another service that works.

Can you please help?
Customer support is telling me I have a lifetime limit and NOT returning my money!
We are experiencing some difficulties with the USD card loading service. The service will be resumed on Monday 14 Nov 10am GMT at latest.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Right now the service is working normally. Please clean your browser's cache or reinstall your Wirex Mobile app and try to make your transactions. Let us know if the issue still persists.

Hey, I am not able to deposit bitcoin. I tried it on both ecoin website and wirex app in both the cases I am not able to see my deposit address I also sent a support ticket about 24hrs ago I haven't got any reply yet.
Take care when using wirex... transfer to credit card was failed and they are holding my bitcoin (500$) since 3 days without any reply to multiple support request.
