If I rented some hash should I point it to my stick address ( http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.hedgy73stick ) or do I need a donation address setting up?

we talked about it during the last run.  I mentioned it helps track sticks, but  I think in this run mixing sticks and donated would be fine.

When I setup the over clock contest this weekend

that stick would need to stand alone to track.

So if you are not planing to try the overclock contest I would just lump it together.

If you  enter the contest you can do a second account at that time.

Ok great thanks Smiley.

Are there any more details anywhere about the overclock contest?

They are in the last October to November thread.

Basically it is the best share total for 1 stick during 24 hours. Must show a screen shot or photo of the cgminer.
Bfgminer at the start and finish.

Must be air cooled . If you crash you lose.

So the screen shot should be twenty four hours.

I will photo what I mean.

I host this stick  so pretend it was in the overclock contest

the start time is 2015-11-12 at 7:40AM

it has an A of 103370

look left and shares are 102606

at 2015-11-13 at 7:40 am

24 hours would be up and you would take a screen shot showing the gui with no crash and cryptoglance's accounting for you

we would enter the shares and see how you stand.

I use minera-gekko and I can't find a running instance of cgminer.
I can open a command line and start a new instance ( i.e. (re)entering the gekko addy and user, but I'm afraid this will just open a new local miner and won't reflect what the pi is doing. Plus I'm afraid I'll mess something up.

Would this log suffice for minera users? It's got much of what cgminer would show,e.g.dates, times, number of compacs?

it does not show the start time which would be a problem.

anyone else using this? is there a spot with a start time?

if it shows a start time  say 1 am nov 15  and runs for 24 hours without a crash  the second screen shot will show the same 1 am nov  15 start time.

Just glancing at minera read me, they have this screen shot that has a start time, but not sure if that is showing how long minera has been running or how long cgminer/bfg has been running? Or if it would show a crash of mining and then a restart of mining?

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/michelem09/minera/master/assets/img/screen_minera_dashboard_hi.png

And read me says something about an "uptime widget"? Again, is that for mining or for how long minera has been running?

I'm wondering if screen (the linux program) could be loaded in minera and then used to show cgminer/bfg?

Which then could be used to get screen-shot's of cgminer/bfg???

do you do minera for sticks?  I need some one to see if we can lock in time for 24 hours like I can do on cgminer or bfgminer

If not I will need to figure a different tracking method so that we can have a fair contest.

My problem is now eliminated. I may still be enamored with my pi, but we're not joined at the hip. I cut it out of the equation.

I moved the power supply and hub to a w7 box, now I can send a screen shot of my cgminer status.

When is the 24 hour contest please?

pepto just posted  he will run on windows.

so I am still tracking how many are in and if everyone can supply a screen shot of uptime. Since 24 hours without crashing is part of the contest.

How many are planning to do the over clock contest + high share contest?

Please post a name.

since I bumped to 2 prizes.

1)most shares in 24 hours
2) highest share in 24 hours

you could join and not run your stick hard enough to win the oc contest (unless everyone crashes)  but still win with a high share.

No, just cgminer.

Maybe someone running minera can see if they can get a screen-shot of cgminer/bfg, inside of minera by using Putty (like is done for the S's)?

join and not run your stick hard enough to win the oc contest (unless everyone crashes)  but still win with a high share.

I want to give it a shot.
Also I added HerbPean to the list since he just posted he wanted in.

I forget the guy that asked about high share but it is good .

Also a few did not get a y cable that they order so they can have action.

And to make it just a bit easier the oc contest crash and burn you are out.

but the  for high share you keep the highest share before you crashed. --- ie you could get lucky even if you crash out.

No, just cgminer.

Maybe someone running minera can see if they can get a screen-shot of cgminer/bfg, inside of minera by using Putty (like is done for the S's)?

The minera GUI has a "Miner uptime" box that shows how long the mining software has been running. My instance has been running for 46 days. Maybe a screenshot is good enough?

Additionally you can ssh in and use ps to see how long the process has been running. Something like this:

Code:
ps -eo pid,cmd,etime,args | grep [g]ekko

13743 /usr/bin/SCREEN -dmS cgmine 46-03:09:56 /usr/bin/SCREEN -dmS cgminer-gekko /var/www/minera/minera-bin/custom/cgminer-gekko --compac-freq 306 --balance --suggest-diff 32 -c /var/www/minera/conf/miner_conf.json
13744 /var/www/minera/minera-bin/ 46-03:09:56 /var/www/minera/minera-bin/custom/cgminer-gekko --compac-freq 306 --balance --suggest-diff 32 -c /var/www/minera/conf/miner_conf.json

Note that there are two results because minera runs cgminer-gekko under "screen". The second one above (with PID 13744) is the actual miner process. But since screen starts the miner, effectively there's no difference in runtime between these processes.

HTH...

Might be a mute point for me on the hash rate any-ways, was testing some and popped something in the hub I modified for power. Have to see if I can modify another cheap hub laying around, before we start.

Guess I should have stuck with 488MHz @ ~ 26.59Gh, instead of shooting for higher.

Yeah 488MHz is pretty lame. You should probably remove yourself from the contest. Grin

it is why I wanted a 24 hour time frame.  I know I can do 400 for 12 hours as i did it with 2 or 3 sticks already.   ran hot so I backed off.
