Mini Earnings and faucets just pay off way too little. They can be ignored IMO.

I have to thank you for this, for I am not a newbie and I found a few of these helpful.  I am commenting however because I want these other Newbies to stop writing new posts asking the same question over and over.  Let them read this and move forward.  Nicely put together.

It's good for fun. Tons of people play silly facebook or mobile games that have no purpose.

If they would not do that, and would do faucets instead (which are a waste of time too, so it can be replaced) they would atleast earn some money.

So change 1 waste of time with another, and in the process earn some money Cheesy

Exactly! It's the easiest way to start playing with this technology.
For earning a living is indeed a waste of time but has added value while learning.

Yes, i think every newbie should spend at least 1-2 weeks using faucets just to try out bitcoin before buying it.

Many newbies lost money before they forgot to backup wallets. Thats why they should try out with small amounts first

There are also new kinds of faucets coming up. Ones that are not based on captcha but based on viewing ads.

Simply called PTC sites, where you are paid to view ads, and they can be more confortable than normal faucets

This site is very interesting: http://getyourbitco.in

No limits... It's basically 70 satoshis for every captcha you solve. You can claim every second Shocked
