I think chasing loses is not form of an addiction but rather an obsession.  Obsessed on the idea of getting back what he had lost.  The reason why gambling is addicting because it alters ones mood.  From one gloomy feeling to exciting one.  Rising the persons adrenaline due to the thrill and excitement of winning or waiting for the result.

Though not everyone's money keep growing as you mentioned, and not everyone really enjoys gambling all the time because no one can always win, but still there are certain times when you win money in gambling and in my opinion those are the times that drags you back there again next time for gambling because that thing will be in your mind that last time you won and you hope to win again.

Well its not rrally all the time that winning causes addiction. As you've all said, when you gamble, chances are you're more likely to lose money that earn so i don't think that's the main reason though it may trigger it at times. If a person's interest matchrs that of what gambling brings, then i think that's what mainly causes addiction because it reallu doesnt matter if a person loses a lot of money if they're addicted. The machine or the dealer say you win, you win and they say you lose, you lose your money. And that is why so many people get addicted cause the entry level is not high.
