In New Hampshire, you want to have a porcupine and an FSP sticker then the cops are more likely to leave you alone. They understand that you'll fight charges in court, stand up for your rights, and generally be a hassle that isn't worth it.

In New York they just think "he's asking for it".

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Excellent, Erik!
Now the New Hampshire license plate slaves know what BITCOIN is!

Bill Morrissey wrote a song titled "Live Free or Die" about the irony of a prisoner serving time in the State of New Hampshire's jails and hand-stamping license plates with the motto Live Free or Die. (Wikipedia)

I also cover the bitcoin economy for Forbes, American Banker, PaymentsSource, and CoinDesk.

Here's a dumb question.  Can't anyone with access to a license plate database now find out every last little detail about who you are, your age, where you live, etc?  Vanity plates can still be checked, obviously.

When I got my vanity plate (nonbitcoin related), my first choice was taken and I thought I'd be slick and substitute a 0 for the O. The lady said they are visually equivalent, so it was effectively still taken.

Oh man wish I could get one, first off the format here would need to be three letters - three numbers or less of the either. And to make things worse the price of one is 5000€ last I heard. Finland is the ultimate byrocracy Sad

Well atleast I got this to keep me smiling while I drive:

Bitcoin trinkets now on my online store: btc trinkets.com <- Bitcoin Tiepins, cufflinks, lapel pins, keychains, card holders and challenge coins.

Should someone make up a Bitcoin license plate site for all states and countries? Basically draw a world map with border lines, and have each border area be a link to popup the Bitcoin plate for that jurisdiction.
