Hello Karpeles. No, we haven't gave up the idea. In fact, we have actually developed the idea even further, and the project got more complex, and it's implementation is taking much more time than we thought it would.

We could just create a "simple" site, to support one competition on a monthly basis, but we really think this project has potencial, and we want to create it with some additional features that will make it more interesting. You probably remember that we had different types of Side Competition, when we were sponsored by directbet, plus the main competition. We want to keep that diversity, with multiple buy in tournaments (including a freeroll), and multiple types of tournaments (knockout tournament, Mini Leagues, bounty tournaments, etc), with different duration, etc. We also want a referral system that will have some unique features as well, and we want to create a space for users to sell their tips if they want as well.

This is why we are taking much more time than we expected, but like I said we haven't gave up on this idea. We just made it more complex, and hopefully more interesting when we launch it.

I can't make promises regarding dates, but right now, I don't find any reasons that would stop this project from being ready and stable before the World Cup.

Yes you are probably correct, and we thought about that. The problem is that a lot of things would need to be changed in the way we built the database to support all those future changes we would like to do, so it would almost be like starting from scratch. The good side though, could be exactly what what you just said. If we had already started we could slowly start building reputation and a player base, but we decided to take the risk and go for the long term.

We are already late now, so it's better to try to get a good start, and like I said before, I don't find any reasons that would stop this project from being ready and stable before the World Cup, and once we start it, it should last, so I think everything will go out well in the end.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know that FrueGreads won't be around for most of today, but he'll still be back in time to post the promised update at the end of the day (UTC).

Good to hear this competition is coming back. I kind of lost hope that we would see this competition running again, since nothing happened when the World Cup started, so this turned up as a great surprise.

As for the format I guess I'm ok with how things where. I just didn't really like that stake bonus that could be explored, but besides that, everything was great in my opinion.

Important Update

Hello everyone, sorry for the late update, but as u9y42 pointed out, I was away most of the day.

As promised I would like to announce that our Tipster Championship is back, and our new sponsor is BetKing.io!

We will try to go live on the 1st August, just in time for the start of the major European Football Leagues, so that you don't miss good betting opportunities, while at the same time get the chance to win some great prizes, making your betting experience much better!

As for the competition format, things are almost all decided, but as usual we listen, so feel free to make suggestions and if we can we will add them. If we can't add them for this first opening edition, we will try to do it on the next one if possible.

We will make an official announcement with all the rules, but right now this is our plan:

- Betting bankroll of $50 (Bitcoin equivalent)
- Valid bets will need to have a stake of at least 1% of current bankroll, and will have a max of 5% (of course tat if they are above 5%, you will still get paid, but wins will only be calculated for the leaderboard as if they were made with a 5% stake)
- We will consider daily ROI% and award competition points based on that value.

We will have 3 different formats, so that everyone can get something out of our competition:

- Daily Challenges: Like the ones we had before. We will give you a Betting Challenge and the winner will get a daily prize based on that.

- Weekly Competition: As said before our daily ROI% will award you points. At the end of the week, the players with more points will get their prizes. Points will reset every week for this weekly format, so that everyone has a chance to win these prizes as well.

- Monthly Competition: Although we will give most of the prizes on our Weekly Format, we still want to reward those that are able to make good bets during the entire month. For the Monthly Format, we will not reset the points, and at the end of the month we will award prizes for a small number of players. Our Tipster Kings for the month!

We want to keep everyone engaged in our new Tipster Championship!!!
So with these three options:
- You will be making your normal bets while winning fast daily prizes!
- If you have a good week, you will get even more rewards. If that week wasn't so good, don't worry, because you will have a chance to start all over again on the next week, since we reset weekly points!
- If you are that good, and keep getting good results week after week, we will be noticing and you will get more prizes at the end of the month!

So no matter what happens, you will always have chances to win prizes while you are doing what you like, that is betting!
I think it's hard to beat this, but as I said before, please make suggestions if you have them.

Rules are still being written, so this is still not the official statement, but it should be something like this:

- For the Daily Challenges, as long as participants win the challenge they should get their prize
- For the weekly format, we should probably have an average of 3 bets per day minimum (but there wont be a max bet limit)
- For the monthly format, we should probably have the 100 bet minimum, or something close to it (so it's still not that far from the 3 bets per day).

Since we no longer have the 13% stake bonus, we probably wont have any max bet limit, just a minimum.

Right now we are considering keeping the "old challenges", like "Winning bet at the highest odds", or "Highest number of wins during the day", etc. We will try to change them, but it will of course be impossible to create 30 unique challenges, so we will cycle a few, depending on users feedback.

I would prefer to leave the prizes for my future announcement. I would say they are rather good, as they used to be with our last sponsor.

During the last editions of our competition, players usually didn't had any problems with the number of bets. We can try to tweak that number, so that everyone is pleased with it, but we will need to have something.

Like I've mentioned above, I would rather talk about the prizes in a later announcement (it should happen soon though).
Without talking about values, I would still have to say it all depends on what the other users would do during their week. We will award points every day, based on the Daily ROI%, so it would all depend on the average odds of your wins, compared to other users. According to the points you would get during the week, you could rank 1st, 2nd etc, and the prize you would get would depend on the rank you would get on that week.

Still talking about prizes, don't forget that you would still be competing for our daily prizes (Daily Challenges format), and for our monthly prizes (at the Monthly format of the competition). So 3 different, but simultaneous paths for winning prizes, all with the normal bets.

As for the number of daily bets, we will see what we can do. Like I said before, since we will probably not have a minimum bet requirement, users could always make low odds bet if they needed, in order to meet the number of bets requirement. We try to make this competition as open as possible, so that everyone enjoys it.

The way I see it right now, if we lower the number of bets requirement, we will probably need to create a minimum odds requirement. If we allow bets at 1.01, we will need to set a minimum of at least 3 bets per day. Which one would you prefer?

I'll wait for the full details of the competition especially about the rules and requirements. If it is something similar with the past competition sponsored by Directbet then I will likely join as well. Cant give any suggestions at this time, but just want to say to Betking for being the sponsor of this tipster competition. I'm sure many participants from the past competitions will come back to join it.
