I'd say bitcoin, because you're not able to scam anyone. BTC is the best thing which happened to the internet.
If you pay bitcoin to a scammer, you will not be able to get your bitcoin back. With paypal, you can get your money back.

With paypal the buyer can scam the seller. With bitcoin this is not possible. Paypal can freeze the account or seize your money. With bitcoin this is not possible.

Only if you are using paypal for illicit activities. Paypal is way more safe than bitcoin just because they will actually refund you when you buy something and the deal goes wrong. So many sites using bitcoin are a scam and there is nothing you can do about it.

I think paypal more corporate support

but it's not easy to use, inversely with bitcoin. bitcoin offers many features .

all above should be the reason people choose bitcoin than paypal. it's the matter of time to get bitcoin more popular.

I read somewhere that you can connect your bitcoin to paypal, not sure if this is true but I like to try it out.

If that's the case then I wouldn't have to choose between the two.

virwox especially, but they have expensive fee, i prefer coinimal, but you can aonly sell for paypal not buying option

Oh I see, thank you for notifying me about these sites. I'll check them out, see if I'll be able to use them.

When their account check is negative your acount will be frozen. If they don't find illegal activities your acount might be released within a few weeks or months.

So many sites using bitcoin are a scam and there is nothing you can do about it.

That's wrong. With Bitcoin you use multisig escrow which is safer than Paypal!

I've been fucked by PayPal a number of times selling stuff on ebay with supposedly 'disgruntled' buyers getting their money back. PayPal don't protect the seller so fuck them.

I prefer bitcoin.

You cant use multisig escrow when you are depositing your bitcoins into exchanges or when you use them to buy stuff from sites that accept bitcoin.

paypal is good for people who are buying stuff. it's bad for people who are selling stuff. so many people ended up with nothing after a charge back. it's sad.

Well, it's your choice to use an exchange that provides multisig escrow or payment channels. With fiat you are forced to use a third party services that supports scammers like Paypal or a bank. With Bitcoin you have the choice to make your deals in a way that prevents your from being scammed.

My preferable payment method is paypal, this is due to the fact there are not many online stores that accept my bitcons.

I hope this will change fast, so we consumers can benefit from the true purpose of bitcoin.. sending/ receiving payments.
It won't change when people will think the same way you do. If you prefer Paypal over bitcoin just because bitcoin is not widely accepted then it probably won't be, ever.
If merchants notice that people are asking about possibility of bitcoin payments or there is high demand for such service - they will most likely introduce it.

I do agree with you that we should be paying with Bitcoin whenever we have a chance! It's a bit hard for every one of us to take an initiative and start asking merchants to introduce us as a former of payment, but the least we can do is to use bitcoins when we have a chance to pay with them.

From a seller perspective I like bitcoin. Paypal offers no seller protection when you're selling digital goods, such as memberships, and as seller you pretty much always lose when the buyer decides to put in a (even if wrongful) chargeback.
No such thing with bitcoin Smiley

What are your opinions on paypal or bitcoin for online shopping?

If I am buying  I use paypal with 6 months to pay and 0 interest.

I have that deal from paypal so when buying paypal is a good choice.

Bitcoin is good because there are close to 0 frauds.

But the merchants don't see it because paypal will take care of the frauds for a fee, paid by the user in the end, so the merchant won't have to bother about it. There are charge backs frauds, but I think they are negligible for the big stores

How is that possible i use paypal too, and there is no option to pay for 6 months, it always spent the whole amount if i have in my card linked to it, or maybe this is only for some countries right?
