I couldn't find shill on the list. People are constantly accusing others of being shills here, especially in the alt section. The term could confuse newbies so it might be worth adding to the list.

It's not like anything changes for the word when it's used to cryptocurrencies.

Thank you for the great thread, yogi.

Could you also add not taken abbreviation: MC for MasterCard? I use it sometimes.  Grin

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I'm not sure if sure if either 'Shill' or 'MC' [MasterCard] are bitcoin specific enough to warrant inclusion in the list, but am open minded to the suggestion if others disagree.

Shill? You mean like in: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill
If so that can be looked up easily.

MC is payment system, actually "competitor" to BTC. Recently the former tries hard not to connect with the latter, or at least to discourage BTC usage with some very silly ideas. For some reason I often come up to MC, although I would be happy if I did not.  Grin

Try looking up MC.  Roll Eyes

Terminology is one of the threads that deserves an occasional bump because I see utility in it as a ghost dictionary.
That and after a year or so it's always a good idea to see if someone wants to put in new terms and suggestions to the list as things happen in Bitcoin  Wink

Just one suggestion myself.
Dorian Nakamoto should be its own entry separate from Andreas otherwise keep up the good lurk  Wink

This thread should be pinned, or atleast discussed more, it really helps newbies not to create 1000 new threads/day with the same qurstion.

Well done, this thrread was a lot of work, you deserve some donations

Not sure if you're still maintaining this, but

Bitcointalk: "alt" seems to be commonly used by itself (i.e. not paired with another word like "altcoin") to mean an alt account (btw does anyone know if the full form is "alternative account" or "alternate account"?)

Also requesting "consensus" to be added. Not entirely sure about its definition, but I see the word being used a lot in bitcoin discussions.

Just stumbled on to this now.
Wish I had this thread earlier so I could just quickly check the term used in a post instead of asking some one looking like a noob. Lips sealed
This is a good resource for one not too familiar with some of the forum speak. Wink

Wow that was a long read.  Worth it, but long.   Most posts make sense however now i have to use my judgement when I see Proof of stake and piece of shit.  When dealing with alt coins (I'm getting the hang of it already  Grin) the short form POS appears often.
