Although many altcoins were mentioned here, but many of them seem to lack market cap and popularity, hence making trading to mainstream coins a little challenging.

Are there any good exchanges that supports a wide variety of coins (apart from Yobit?  Grin )

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Hi There
i have developed a bitcoin mining pool that seems to be getting pretty stable to my taste,Soon will be selling so hurry!!!
my name is alex a young 2nd year programming student and a lowkey bit coin enthusiast
contact me anytime [snip]

Here is the Link for the BETA
[snip]
And the free Key Logs
[snip]
0.000956  GHS/BTC
The deposit and withdraw are instant with almost no support fee ,the GH is valid for 6 month
A single GHS Profit Payout willget you 0.0000004527 BTC every hour;
the GHS Maintenance fee is 0.000000240 BTC every 3 hours.

I don't get your point. Smiley Perhaps you could rephrase. What is inside that link you've posted? Is it malicious?  And what has that link gotta do with GHS and your development background?

What is the market cap for this coin? Is it supported by exchanges?

I have some old hardware lying around. I am considering mining solo for the fun of it. Anyone has luck so far? What coins did you mine? Smiley

I was mining LTC on MAT Excalibur 5 256 MH/s (actually about 230 MH at that moment in my case) at solo.nicehash. I found one block. Right before block reward halving.  Wink

I solo mine Credits, the hash rate is quite low. So it is solo mineable. This is the first Proof of Deposit coin. The developers are quite active.

I saw developers advertising in marketplace claiming to develop an altcoin from mechanism, down to the wallet for various platforms. Price? 0.6 BTC. I think mining for the sake of mining altcoin is pointless if there is no market cap and since anyone can have their own branded coins.

The only coin can have success is the one with active development and not much premine. Otherwise, it is just a scam coin.

There is no point to make another altcoin if it does not offer any new functions. Most of the altcoin is just a clone of bitcoin.

I have three small miners, mining three different altcoins at all times. I don't get much from them, but I do have multiply wallets of different coins so in case there is a massive pump or they go up in price over time. I set them and leave them for 3 to 4 days then change them to something else. I could get lucky with one or two or none at all. LOL

You can solo miner with the ccminer. Just point the ccminer to your wallet address. It is not very difficult to do.

I read a couple of altcoin annoucements that have gone ICO at Yobit. These coins are almost identical to each other except the name. Why would anyone buy them?

I don't get it.

Solo mining could work during and for a short time after launch, for some less known/popular coins and for dying coins. Probably joining a pool would be better option for currently mainstream coins.

Totally agree with you for newly launch coin it is easy to solo mine it ,but after people stumble the coin and the difficulty re targeting almost impossible to solo mine after a month or two have tried that on Bitcedi

I don't get it.

They are the pump and dump coins. For the experienced coin traders, they will not buy them. But there are always new comers.
