Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets?

people are using so many bitcoins wallets just because they dont want to have all of their coins just in one wallet because not every wallet is very trusted by people so that is why they use more wallets to be sure that not everything can be stolen.

thats true, it is way safer to have bitcoins in several wallets because if one gets hacked then you wouldnt lose all the funds you already have

yeah maybe people do not believe in a wallet ot they just avoid theft great. because if you keep all of your money in one wallet
of course it would be very risky when your wallet in the hack. so it would be better if you use a lot of wallets

There is an old saying: don't put all your eggs in one basket. This is suitable in bitcoin community, we have mtgox, mintpal, cryptsy, bitfinex hacks, or down eventually, the clients got screwed by them and lost money, so don't just put your btc in a wallet, make deposit on more wallets, this is very secure way to avoid one wallet site be compromised

Simple security reasons.
Most bitcoin users have many wallets because they fear that if they lose their only wallet that contains all of your bitcoins, then all of your bitcoins are lost.

Besides, having multiple wallets is convenient as well. I use xapo online wallet for multiple, frequent small transactions and have hardware wallet for long-term investments.

I think for security reason and also none can trace how many bitcoins he have. Again, many scammers or cheater also use more than one wallet.

i think there is security problem and there is people hacking wallet and put all bitcoin because people are using many bitcoin wallet , i think many bitcoin wallet using is good.

That's right, mostly users have many wallets because they don't feel safe keeping all their bitcoins in one place because in case if you are having all of them in one place and that gets hacked or something else happens to it then you are ruined.

I am someone who has used a large number of bitcoin wallets, starting from 2012. Those days, they used to give promotional offers for using the wallets. For example, there was a BTC0.01 bonus for using the Coinbase bitcoin wallet. I just created 3-4 wallets, and then withdraw the coins to my main wallet. However, at times I lost coins as well. For example, when Instawallet closed down, I lost around BTC0.05.

That's right, mostly users have many wallets because they don't feel safe keeping all their bitcoins in one place because in case if you are having all of them in one place and that gets hacked or something else happens to it then you are ruined.

Honestly i think almost all members here are using multiple wallets in many reason not only for safety of their wallet.. also they are using other wallet because of good benefits.. that you will not get in other wallet. just sample coinbase or xapo you dont need to pay for fee for every transaction unlike you using bitcoin core block chain or electrum that you need to pay for fee to send it to others.

Maybe they jus want secure their coins in different addresses. Just like bank, we can do open save money in different bank companies, samething in bitcoin save it in different wallet address.

I think they just want to try the different services of different bitcoin wallet providers. And that is making their information very secured at all if they are going to have a lot of bitcoin wallet addresses so that their transactions cannot be traced easily at all. For me, there is no a problem if someone is going to use a lot of bitcoin wallets.

I just tried their service, i used Blockchain,blocktrail,jaxxio. And everything went fine, although i did not much deposit on there. And All of them support for smartphone, it made me comfort.

many of those services come at a cost too. for example when you are using an online web wallet you are taking huge risks of losing your coins or even getting hacked and that service you are so happy about can ban your account and take your money at any time.

I'll do the same what other's member did a multiple bitcoin wallets. In my Bitcoin core wallet, every week I put bitcoin savings into it, while   in the other wallet I saved bitcoin for my daily expenses use only, then in other exchange platform  which I fully trust I saved for trading use only. Once I sold something I divided it according to the category that I want to put in.

Exactly at not all online wallets have same services and others have unique one. Also the accessibility is one of the factor.

E.g for Coinbase, the rates here is really interesting but it doesn't support yet our country so we have no other choice but to use other online wallet. So choosing local exchanger wallet is the only way. But on the other side, our local exchanger have some services where we can use our bitcoin in various ways where in other web wallets it doesn't have.

In fact all the bitcoin wallets have different services all users used multiple wallet because no bitcoin wallet has a perfect services that is why. and the other bitcoin wallet does not accepting bitcoin from gambling they will ban the users and not recover the amount of bitcoin from gambling.

every one has their own thinking, but to me most of the people may be using multiple wallet because of security reasons, you ca see that there are a lot of security issues we are facing regarding bitcoin, i
