Additional explanation about free spins from Bitstarz:
By giving the 20 free spins, we're giving genuine casino players an opportunity to play in our casino for free, and if they win, they can withdraw their winnings without any hassle and if they desire, they can keep playing with us. With that being said, there is a risk of fraud when you're giving such a generous offers to the casino community and by asking for a simple KYC verification, we can eliminate the players who are trying to abuse the system. We want our genuine casino enthusiasts to be able to keep enjoying this offer and therefore, we need to be able to remove abusers who are trying to ruin the fun for the rest of the players.

^^ Read below before reading the above quote so it will make sense! Thanks. ^^

Hello fellow members!

I'm usually not the type to create a forum account and post (as I am quite busy in my everyday life with providing for my newborn son, myself, and my girlfriend) however, I feel compelled to let the bitcoin community know a potential scam when I see one. (Maybe I shouldn't say scam; perhaps another word would suffice - but thats for you guys to decide).

Before I continue, I will be uploading screenshots within a couple of hours when I get home from work. Regardless, I am far too livid to wait any longer to post this after my extremely upsetting conversation/experience I had with the websites support team).

So, first things first:

Please check out the quote on the top of this thread before reading further (everytime i try to paste from my phone it seems to paste at the beginning of my thread and not where I want it placed).

To get things started, I am going to explain what attracted me here in the first place, and why I feel that I am being unfairly treated.

My girlfriends best friend, Danielle, had been dabbling with bitcoin-based casino/gambling sites for a while now. She usually always relays her wins/losses/etc to my girlfriend (who then occasionally relays her experiences along to me - and from there It goes in one ear and right out the other, if you catch my drift). That is, until recently. Now, before I continue, I am going to sum up my views on these casino sites: Yes, there are legit sites. There are also not so legit sites. In my personal opinion (from personal experience, and from reading reviews over the years) BTC Casinos that offer no-deposit free spins/bonuses (of any kind) usually never pay out if the user were to win. So, back to the point!

A few days ago my girlfriend was out for a coffee with her friend, Danielle, and when she came home she was blabbing the usual to me (or so i thought). "She said she won $50 worth of bitcoins off a site that gave her 20 free spins upon joining but they wouldn't let her withdrawal them". I thought to myself how foolish she has to be to believe that they would actually process her request to cash out. That same night she messaged my girlfriend on facebook asking me to look over the terms and conditions for her (not the first time she had me doing this). Well, I did what she asked of me and got back to her. She told me they requested a KYC (which is the site operators wanting proof of who you are: government issued id and a utility bill flr example) and they *drum roll please* require you to deposit .1 btc before ANY withdrawals will be processed (even if you prove your identity) IF you luck out and win on the 20 free spins when you register. After she said that I couldn't help but tell her to give up and she is wasting her time (she was quite persistant on trying to get her earnings).

The next morning, she called my house phone just to rub it in my face that they ended up processing her withdrawal of .06 btc (thats what she had left after playing).

So, after I asked her for a screenshot and verified her claims I thought I would try my luck. I managed to win about 140 credits (2.8 mBTC) (estimated, but semi-accurate). From there, i went on to win a total of 5400~ credits (108 mBTC). I stuck around and played a lot more (making sure to have met the 40 times wagering requirement before attempting to cash out). I gave up and requested to withdrawal .05 btc. I waited, nothing. I messaged support, they requested the same thing as Danielle was asked to comply with (KYC and .1 btc deposit). I forgot to mention, she didnt end up even having to provide her KYC id/document upload (sorry forgot to say that above). So, i asked Danielle what she did to get her withdrawal processed. She told me she complained on the forums and messaged support explaining how it was unfair not to let her keep what she made.

I didn't think it was worth it to complain on the thread for Bitstarz, so that was a no-go, instead i contacted support and i mentioned how they processed Danielles request and that I should also be eligible for the same treatment. I was very quickly turned down, and the support team was very rude to me. They claim "her withdrawal shouldn't of been processed". Well, i knew it was too good to be true. But the reason why i am posting all of this is because of the opening quote I posted (above).

It does not mention requiring any deposit of .1 btc to withdrawal free spin earnings, in fact it makes it seem as if you will easily get your winnings if you manage to luck out like I did. Mis informing, and unprofessional.

I have screenshots that Danielle sent me showing her conversations (both ways) with support, and proving they processed her withdrawal without her providing a KYC or any deposit whatsoever. I also have screenshots of how rude the support team was to me, and how they made me feel terrible for asking for my earnings.

Anyways, if this is in the wrong section I apologize, I just don't want anyone else to be mislead as I was (and unfairly treated)

No idea why my message didnt save when i tried to edit it earlier. I mean, that sucks for me. I can't understand why they are so persistant on holding my .05 btc winnings until i deposit $50+ or .1 btc
I easily can and offered to provide any identification (my drivers license, utility bills, social insurance number, even birth cert lol) and they just wont do it for me. The fact that they were so rude to me is what really made me so disappointed and upset.

I edited my post sorry about that. Also, I am going to upload screenshots that will back up everything i mentioned in the morning. I ended up working a few more hours and had to tend to my son. Once they are out for viewing I am sure you, and others, will see things from my point of view.

You must be referring to this, right?

https://www.bitstarz.com/promotions

Click on the 'Terms and Conditions' and read it.

I think they made it pretty clear in their bonus terms that a player might be asked to provide KYC information and will be required to deposit 0.01 before the funds will be available for withdrawal. If you have completed the wagering requirement then just complete their requirements and withdraw your money.

Usually all the bonus at any casino comes with certain requirements be it deposit/no-deposit which needs to be filled and if a player does not agree to the terms, He/she is free to not apply for the bonus.

When you signed up, you agreed to these terms.

Also, just because your girlfriend's friend or who ever got her withdrawal by complaining on the forums and black mailing the casino, doesn't mean you should too. I think it was mistake of the casino that they allowed her to withdraw without completing the terms (i.e. if we go by her words that she didn't deposited and/or provided the KYC) but just because they made a mistake once, doesn't mean they will keep repeating it.

^^ Where does it state a deposit is required there? Why are multiple people telling me they didn't have to make a deposit first to withdrawal? And I already mentioned I can and was willing (still am willing) to upload documents but they told me it isn't enough -- they want a deposit first aswell.

And, my girlfriends friend didn't blackmail them, lol. She posted on the advertising thread stating that she was unfairly treated, which was deleted promptly by the thread owner anyway. Where does that fall under blackmail? Its funny, the people who comment basically saying im in the wrong here are the ones who refer others to bitstarz (and advertise it).

So, if I were to get 10-20 people who would state (and prove) that they got their free no deposit bonus winnings withdrew WITHOUT having to deposit ANY BTC/CASH first (not talking about the KYC - as, like i keep stating, isn't the issue here) in the past week or two would that be considered me being treated unfairly? Or is there another excuse that will arise from this? I'm willing to keep this thread alive until I find 8 more people who are willing (or 18 more) to state this.

wagering requirement is acceptable, but not for deposits.
if you need to deposit before gaining cashout, then it is illogical and just like ponzi.

out of ability to use the signature, i want a new ban strike policy that will fade the strike after 90~120 days of the ban and not to be traced back, like google | email me for anything urgent, message will possibly not be instantly responded
i am not really active for some reason

Bitstarz.com is NOT an online casino it is a scam
They will take the bitcoins right out of your account balance if you win.
They have many hidden rules and do not enforce the rules in the software, so pretty much everyone is breaking a rule without knowing it.
Search Bitcointalk for many cases where Bitstarz steal bitcoin straight out of users account.
Bitstarz will sometimes delay your withdrawal for 6+ hours while they come up with ways to take your winnings back.
I was not going to come out with this until I saw many other users are being scammed by the bitstarz scam casino.

Where have you seen such accusations? Is there valid proof within such reports? I have only read one incident, regarding a user claiming he has been drained of 3.5~ BTC after breaking the max-wager rule multiple times after being warned about it.

I am interested in hearing back, as I personally have been treated fairly well from these guys, in my 11 days of playing-total. I have been thrown random gifts like crazy, and have had many long, off-topic conversations with Mike, he seems like a genuinely great guy. I can't say anything bad about these guys, thats for sure, hens why I am interested in reading your findings.

Well the same thing happened to me with 5 BTC and when I heard that it happened to someone else it set me off. It is not just that guy. This is something bitstarz does to make extra money. They take your winnings right out of your account and make up some excuse.

Same thing happened to me a few months back, I had won about 20 btc which they confiscated. I already shared it in another thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=651730.160) and also wrote a lengthy account of what happened on a site that I write for from time to time: http://www.worldcasinoindex.com/online-casinos/bitstarz-review/

Scammy as $%$%
Was betting 2 BTC per hand on their blackjack table, 2 BTC being the maximum bet. Had a long good winning streak. Next thing you know my account is disabled. They didnt say anything when I lost a few months ago.

Got any proof of this?  I don't doubt it strongly, and I'll take your word for it,  but you have to back up your claims in the world of bitcoin.  None of this really surprises me.

If the original Backside walkaround can prove to me they are the old owner of this account, I can update the email address to the email address of their choosing.
Backside walkaround has lost access to their account as they used someone else's email address to sign up, and the owner of the email address got tired of random email notifications from this site after a few months and reset the password.

I would think twice before sending any sort of personal information to an anonymous business that can't really be held accountable for their actions.

When a US Online Casino asks me for my ID, I'm ok with it because I know that if they were to fail at keeping it secure, they would have hell to pay from the regulators and I would receive a fat settlement.

If you find out the dox you sent Bitstarz ended up on a darknet marketplace, all you could do is come back here and start another thread.

Besides.

If they were really bound by regulations to satisfy any KYC requirements, they would be verifying your information before accepting your action.

This casino bitstarz is a scam they stole over 4 bitcoins from me total of around 17000 dollars and disabled my account I had been depositing for 8 months wasent using any bonus when I won they will not pay u if u win big there they are stealing peoples money I read so many complaints about them and if. U use askgamblers website to complain it's a joke because bitstarz pays them money to just delete there complaint and ban people instantly that's why they give them a good review too. Same with casinomeister they pretend to arbitrate when but i you post proof that bitstarz cheated and stole they will ban you because bitstarz pays them too. So there just as bad so stay away from bitstarz at all cost if u want a good site go to vegascasino.io there cool there no bs always pay I have screenshot and transcripts of bitstarz stealing my money as proof if any one wants to see or if they can help get my money back

There should be a Hall of Shame, a thread of it's own, for errant casinos.

These sites are engineered to do one thing: take your money. They weren't designed to dispense free money. The odds are always against the gambler. One can argue here in defense of their provably fair claims but this is not 100% foolproof. This entire provably fair model is based on the idea that the past is predictable. As a consequence of this, the future can be just as easily predicted. These casinos may not be able to manipulate the results as they are perhaps truly random (and can be proven so) but they can determine those results ahead of time. This is a fatal and costly flaw in favor of the house.

They will always win, guys. And in the rare event that they don't they will find ways, loopholes, backdoors, fine prints and other tools to redefine the word win to you lost.
