I've heard that that takes up a lot of phone processing power; is that true? The app itself seems great, but that's the only thing holding me back.

I myself use 3 different wallets. One is on my Android device, one on my desktop PC and one online.

The one i like the most is on my desktop, MultiBit. I like it because you can quicky generate new deposit adresses and keep track of your incomes and outcomes. I only use Blockchain for some payments, and on my mobile phone i have MyCelium wallet, which i use for mobile/QR code scanning payments.

What wallets do you use and which one do you prefer and why?
i'm using Coinbase,it the only wallet i trusted, coinbase never disappointed me,and have really good service, they also connected to piiko.com,i always use it for top up my mobile, really make me aesy to use bitcoin for usefull things, and also coinbase more simple than any other wallet. i also never forget about their giveaway for past time Grin

I use xapo 2 months allready and for now I didnt have any problems. I saw some complains about it, but for my needs its good. I dont have some big amounts on it. Fast sending and reciving, everything is easy. They have androind version and that suits me. After reading many comments, I think soon I will try electrum, I see people here use this wallet mostly so I will trust u guys. But as I understanded Electrum is good for keeping coins safe, so it will be good to keep coins there, and to use xapo for everyday transactions ( in my case for gambling).

I keep most of my Bitcoin in my electrum wallet and then I keep some of my "extra change" in my coinbase wallet which I use on my android phone. They are both very easy to use and I am glad that I use them. I hate blockchain.info's wallets because of the security issues. Coinbase has spent a lot of money on security for their customers and they also give you 1,000 free transactions.

it is really nice that we have so many fine choices.

Personally, I go with electrum.  In addition to the lite client, I like that I can recover it with seed and also use it for cold storage.

I have only one active wallet software that I am using and that is Mycelium. I have been using it for a year now and there is huge problem. I also have MultiBit installed in my Desktop but I rarely use it.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!

I have a lot of different wallet for different purpose, for example if for sending people bitcoin I like to use coinbase and blockchain and last time when I play game the game only pays with xapo

Each of the wallets has its own positive and benefit side, like coin base its provide simple sending and receiving bitcoin, blockchain able to generate address and sign a transaction, xapo launched a debet card that you can use anywhere that accept bitcoin and all of them provide with good security protection and second authorization transaction

But for me the best wallet is blockchain

coinbase and blockchain have some similarities, and both are equally safe and fast, and the only two that I believe it, but for some reason I chose coinbase, one reason being coinbase more friendly when used on smartphones. and also coinbase have transaction costs lower.

I have a hard wallet on my computer, however I use a number of different wallets around the service.  I have 2 XAPO wallets, one coin base wallet, and a blockchain wallet.  I do this because so many faucets offer immediate payment, but you must have a wallet they prefer.  As an example, Farm Satoshi only uses XAPO and canceled out FaucetBox.

It's been 3 years I used electrum and still no problem.
I use electrum because the wallet was very simple, easy to use and easy to understand by anyone.
But I also use my blockchain for use as an online wallet, because my device is integrated with the device easily without having to make the wallet again.

I mentioned this in another thread similar to this and here are my thoughts on what wallets:

I would go with a mobile wallet such as Airbitz or Mycelium. Avoid blockchain wallet and web wallets such as Coinbase or Circle. You can have funds frozen on those.

Mycelium has a local trader built in. Airbitz has 20% discount on Starbucks and 10% off Target built in through Fold. Airbitz is both on iOS and Android while Mycelium is only on Android. Oh another potential good one is Breadwallet but that is only on iOS.

In closing go for Airbitz, Mycelium, and Breadwallet.

Long term storage then the obvious choice is Ledger or Trezor or Armory and paper wallets encrypted with passwords.

I've heard that that takes up a lot of phone processing power; is that true? The app itself seems great, but that's the only thing holding me back.

If you think that that takes up too much of your phones processing power, you can try coinbase. It's the one I use on my phone and it works great.
