I know its not an ATI card... anyone using one?

I have 3 in my machine... but am capping out at something like 140 MH/s.

One site is reporting that they are getting 280MH/s and the old GTX 580s seems to have a rate of 160MH/s

I am poor, but i do work for Coin Smiley

The kernel has to be optimized for Kepler and so far there aren't any.

140MH/s sounds about right. You might get a little better with some tweaking, but not much. Nvidia cards were almost never profitable, even before the reward half. Now, it's pointless.

And no, I wouldn't invest in some ATI cards either. If you really want to get into Bitmining, sell 2 of your 3 cards, and buy some ASICs.

the 5 series is faster than 6 series as far as bitcoin mining is concerned, until someone figured out a faster kernel.

Which will never happen now.

Funny, the 5 series ATI were faster than the 6 series ATI as well but at least we knew why that was the case there (vliw5 vs vliw4 architecture), while no one knows or cares for these poor nvidia cards and bitcoin mining. On the other hand, coinlab will eventually start having some cuda based workloads for nvidia to make them earn something at some stage in the future.

If you want to play games, you must have a Nvidia card, if you want to do anything else try ATI.
So the fact that I game 15-20+ hours a week on my AMD CPU (gasp!) and my ATI GPU (double gasp!) must make me the scourge of the internet, doesn't it? Tho really, an 8 core bulldozer and a 7970 really isn't that bad for gaming.

But if you say so, it must be true. I'll load up my hotmail account and write to failblog.org so they can set their logo as my face right away.

To the others, work was going to invest in a Tesla box that would put out 6-10 TFlops based off 1-2 TESLA K20/K20X/K10 and i was thinking of doing a week long burn in with Bitmining, then seeing about setting it to run BC at a low priority.

But either way I dont pay for Power at home or at work, so BT/watt never has mattered.

So who wrote the last code for the Fermi cards that was optimized? Are there any groups that would take writing the code as a commissioned job?

People are right. Your profits on Nvidia will be miserable. This is not worth it, even with free electricity.

I wrote a miner from scratch in "Radeon pseudo-assembly" (CAL IL) 2 years ago. I estimated here that in theory a GTX 680 should be capable of 300-475 Mhash/s with a properly optimized kernel. That means a Tesla K10 (which is faster than K20 and K20X on integer or FP SP workloads) should be capable of 430-690 Mhash/s (linear scaling of cores x MHz). At current difficulty you would mine 1.9-3.0 BTC per month. If it takes a $100/hour consultant 10 hours to write an optimized kernel (it took me 20 hours to write my first version), then it would take 2+ years to recoup your initial investment. Given that ASICs are coming out in the next few months, you will basically never make your money back!

Now you see why we tell you to not bother mining on Nvidia...

what mhz and miner?


cgminer-2.9.7 - (1 card is headless at times but not sure if it helps it)  Both cards +224mzh GPU and +448 mem clock Voltage at 987mv





Headless helps

and I always forget I have the large memory version.

over 80mhz overclock isn't stable, i run two monitors, not headless
max 122m/hash rpcminer
