If you are interested in altcoins, you can consider Storj, IOTA and OmiseGo. They are also potential coins to invest.
Yes its good idea to buy some altcoin, also buying them is worthy because they also have potential to be next in bitcoin, like litecoin and ethereum there are good altcoin, if you have this you never loss money, also they are cheaps but worth to invest.

I think it's a bit risky to invest in altcoins right now, but if you ask me, I would suggest you to hold some Bytes. DAG coins are one of the greatest innovations in crypto this year, and next year is probably the year when it will gain greater attention.

Waves, Monetha, IOTA are my suggestions at the time. Do not expect any profit from Monetha in the first quarter of 2018, but after that they are coming so strong.

By no means too late to obtain together follow interest in bitcoin, profit from bitcoin is the most profitable financial action. Numerous countries have recognized existence of bitcoin, so no need to worry about bitcoin will be worthless. Actually, bitcoin continue to be really useful later, due to limited provide.
I partially agree with you about the stability and profitability of bitcoin, but if you listen to the expert advice of other experienced users, you can earn not only on bitcoin.

Get some SHT, active dev, anon and totally new paradigm. The lead dev on Shitcoin was heavily involved in Nigeriacoin so totally right on there as well. Gonna be distributed per ICO, so hop on that train that's gonna replace BTC

The problem is, as mentioned before, that most of the alt coins die after a great spike, where everybody thinks that this is going to be it like the bitcoin.
So if you want to speculate on short term: yes , it can be very profitable.
But in the long run you better stick to the bitcoin/litecoin ect.
So invest short term in alt and sell them IN TIME.

ETH, LTC, VTC, ARK  Wink
If you like VTC, you should also check out UIS.

https://medium.com/@cryptkeeperofficial/why-unitus-could-be-the-next-vertcoin-8327867b23f1

UIS is also implementing proof of stake in 2018 on top of being the 1st coin in crypto that was able to combine multiple algorithms with merge mining

It only has just over $1 million market cap. It has a ton of room for growth.

Or buy older coins like SYS that have surpassed the peaks and valleys of hype and producing real results. Penny for your thoughts.

Everybody here have their favorite coins in which they believe, as well as I have. So if you would like to pick some of altcoins, you should do your own research. You should check the market cap, story behind the project, communication with the community, are there any products already in place etc. I can tell you that I believe in ETH and Monero, but have also some other coins in my portfolio that I believe are worth of holding.

Ethereum is a good one.

of course its good, everyone now will be using ETH which made its value stronger in the market. ICO asks for ETH not just BTC and I notice most are just keeping BTC and just invest using ETH this time. investments using BTC to buy on ICO tokens are lesser compare to the time when ETH was still very new and that was 2015.

Many people are choosing Ethereum as altcoin worth to buying. I also think so, that this coin is also derived from ICO which is not too expensive but only takes a few months for the price multiples. I also chose BCH as altcoin worth to buy.

I agree, guessing something which is giving good return in short term is not good. So you are right we have research always before investing in any coin, how far the volumes it is generating and how the community is reacting to it. There are many potential coins in the market which is good returns with your investment but be careful with some coins.

I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin? I don't mean like a few here and there, I mean over 100 coins.
Just personally jumped in on the WARP crowdsale. They have some neat features planned (so long as they go through), a separate forum specific to the coin (shows a bit of effort on the devs part), and so far a fairly active dev who answers PM's rather quickly. All good signs in my book Smiley
