So just for the fun I created this bot that brute forces Bitcoin addresses.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua04HEx_zdk

Of course its nearly impossible to crack any normal generated addresses but as I said, just doing it for the fun Smiley)

Here is what i did:

1. Grabbed all unique public keys in the blockchain and placed them in a local Database

2. Coded an app to generate private keys from Bigints (Both compressed an uncompressed) with multiple RNG types

3. For each PVK generated the app checks the Database for a possible public address match

4. A txt file is created with the PVK and Public address in case of a match

5. I will run the app for the next 464656656565656566565646367618239128323718298319239129309 years to see if I get any good addresses Smiley))

I got dozens of used addresses but they were all empty already.

Also did with dictionary attack and got dozens of used addresses, all empty also.

If someone interested I can sell a copy of the app + the database (around 10 GB) for 1 BTC.

I have the same dababase of about 30 GB or 600.000.000 records.

interested ?

Funny and a little creepy  Grin

You could try to use brute-force for brain wallets. You will find a bunch of used empty addresses, too.

It may be a nice piece of software, but are you sure this will have success?
1BTC price is a bit heavy for that many years of computing for a potential of a few bitcoins... I wouldn't even hold one in one address.

The chances of finding an address that has most in it is infinitely small,  I'm surprised you even found any that has had coin in it at some point.

Bullshit. Proof, or GTFO.

This I can believe. Just points out the folly of using anything but randomly generated addresses.

Ahh. A motive for your outlandish claims.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.

Good luck with your journey through infinity. It's basically a waste of time and resources to attempt a brute force attack in this case.

It won't happen, but let's pretend you gained access to an address of some one that has 10BTC in it, what will you then do? Steal the coins?

Probably 10 BTC I wouldn't transfer, too low for the risk.

But imagine you get any address with thousands of them? Would you judge anyone who dares to transfer them?

As satoshi said, the ownership of bitcoin belongs to the one who has the private key, not to who thinks it "holds" them.

Nobody owns bitcoins, the only thing you own is a private key.

If for one reason this is worth the effort to show how Bruteforcing a Bitcoin Address would be impossible... some people will not believe this without practical proof. There are still people

out there who believe that Bitcoin can be hacked. When I started out with Bitcoin, it was one of my first concerns... until I understood the math behind it. Let's assume that there are

many people like myself out there, who needs to be educated. Just post this link in your comment section --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZloHVKk7DHk ... Just to show how

impossible it is.
