Of course I am taking this into consideration. An extension wont help him if he doesn't eventually return the funds. On the other hand on the slim chance this is the truth, he should have a chance to restore the harmed parties first shouldn't he? Who is served by his doxing and no one getting paid back?
Actually, Master-P is most likely using an old version of Armory (0.93.2) which now produces nonstandard transactions with a High S value. This could lead to him being unable to send coins anywhere. So if he does come up with an excuse about Armory not letting him send, give him the benefit of the doubt and tell him to upgrade to Armory 0.93.3 so that it will actually send. And ask for a signed message from him that is a "Clearsign Signature" (it is a format that armory uses) since in that type of signature from Armory, the Armory version is included in the signed message so we would know whether there are actually technical issues or if he is lying.

I have already requested he sign a message for me. This was my plan all along. If he can provide any evidence he was hacked I will give him the benefit of the doubt for the sake of all parties involved. I don't take this lightly, but some times it is necessary to remind people that its not always so easy to get away with robbing people of their Bitcoin.

as long as there is serious intent, like 20% returned immediately and the rest via 4-5 weekly payments

not sure what the total is but assuming $10k or so this shouldn't be a problem if he can afford a 3 week vacation who knows where

can put it on a credit card LOL

Cell reception != wifi

Before you say "we'll he could tether his computer through his phone" many people don't have that because it's an additional $30/mo for minimal benefit

whatever the excuse it's not ok for an escrow to go on an extended trip with no way to access accounts and wallets

besides there are many other tools like trezor etc

it also appears (if we believe the "hack" story) that master-p may have been delinquent with backups and/or not have a good disaster recover plan... makes you think how other escrows on this forum would deal with a situation like this, or a "hit by a bus" scenario etc.

if it was a hack as the third account claims, then the hypothetical hacker would likely have taken the money already, assuming this hack even exists, the private keys are already compromised given the signed message: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1306301.msg13378692#msg13378692

really find it hard to believe this claim is true.

He wrote something about his wallet needs a verification from his smartphone. Does Armory support 2FA maybe? It might be an explaination for why the coins didn't move. Of course only when you want to take his story.
if the private keys were compromised, which, if this story is true, they should be considering the signed message linked in my quoted post, the hacker wouldnt need any sort of 2FA to move the coins. the private keys would give a hypothetical hacker full control of the coins regardless of whatever security measures armory provides.

Though only one thing can be possible. Either the private keys are compromised and the "hacker" can sign message AND withdraw the funds or the funds are out of reach for the hacker and the private keys are NOT compromised.

I think the only storyline without inconsistencies is that master-P made an exit scam and wrote all of this himself or he lost the private keys and can't reclaim the bitcoins and he had the stupid idea to try getting out of this.

He might have thought he might be able to avoid paying back of the escrowed funds. Maybe now, when he slowly realizes his stories have too many holes, he gives in and claims he will pay back slowly.

All speculation at this point unfortunately.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

I read those exchanges and I cannot imagine any of those excuses are true.  It looked like he was stonewalling whilst thinking of whatever it is scammers think of while they're running away with the money.  Crazy how this is developing.

I'm not going to bother with sifting through all the trash here.

So the person who posted with the account "jonesz" posted the following transaction claiming that it is the tx where the sale of my account took place:
https://blockchain.info/tx/61c3471d66a8b5f1cc61ede17545c14951ce96e5731f5c17846be175c11879aa

I was able to finally log in to my Bitstamp account today. This transaction matches one of my withdrawals from bitstamp to my wallet. There is a good chance that the wallet that contains this particular address has not yet been compromised. With that  I can definitely sign an address to prove that this is me.

The hacker signed a message using my "Bitcoin Stake Your Address Here" address. This address is in a separate wallet with zero funds which he has apparently taken control of, seeing as he signed a message with the address that has been validated by you guys.

The address in the above posted transaction is not in the same wallet. If I am right then the hacker should not have access to this wallet as it would not have been able to log my keys for that password, as I haven't used it at all in the weeks prior to my vacation. When I get back I will be able to check which addresses I can use to sign to prove my identity over whoever is on my account and whoever else posting here is claiming to be me.

Regardless, someone here is fucking with me and trying to screw me over. For those who keep asking why I couldn't post any announcement here that I'm going away, etc. is because I did not intend to have to be away from the forums for this long. My plans was to be able to log in remotely to complete escrow tasks once or twice a week. As that is usually the frequency of when I need to manually send out payments for sig campaigns and what not. I don't feel like I'm obligated to announce myself to everyone when I need to take time off, or just be a little less active than usual because of me having a life outside of this place.

Right now I am NOT turning on my computer remotely in the case that I am right about the hacker not having control over the escrow wallet yet. This is the best case scenario for everyone, because if that is true then I will have a better chance at reclaiming full control and be able to refund everyone's coins before the thief gets a hold of it.

I want to give you the benefit of the doubt in case you are telling the truth, but none of these various stories add up. The only way you are getting more time is if you start refunding coins or you sign a message before the 1st. What you have stated so far is not convincing.

P.S. I don't care what you use to sign, as long as it has connection to the Master-P account at some time. I realize this means you could also be the purported hacker, but this would rule out third parties trolling, in addition the hacker would have little to no incentive to stop your doxing. Of course signing an uncompromised address would help you establish your identity later, but time is of the essence here, and we need some sign of life from you before I consider delaying the release of your info. I prefer that you start refunding coins, but either will do.

As far as we know absolutely everything every "Master-P" said was a lie. Nothing about this adds up. If however he can sign the message it is a good indicator we at least have one of the directly involved parties engaged in a dialog. Time will tell if he follows thru on this. I for one am glad there is a possibility of the victims being compensated this way regardless of his current lack of credibility.

Obviously he's coming back home early to refund the coins. It seems some sig posters are just posting shit to bump up their post count.

Well, I don't exactly care about my dox. Post it all you want, it won't help the situation. I am not exactly threatened by that as many people in this community whom I've traded with already knows my name. But if you guys think threatening me by doxxing me is going to help, regardless of if you believe my story or not, then you're going about this all wrong.

Maybe you could prove that you are the real master-p by posting something in your dox, like your street address number or something small so those with your dox could confirm that it is the correct information..

Or maybe PM the dude with your dox and tell him so he can confirm it is correct..

It may not remove all doubt but may help.. IDK, just a suggestion..

Yes some of the pieces to this puzzle you have constructed just do not connect together and seem to be glued together in a Frankenstein type of way.

I don't mind showing proof to TECSHARE to verify my dox. I can prove that it is the real me with a photo ID. But like everyone here likes to say, it's easy to buy a fake ID Right? So I don't know how credible this may seem to the community. With that said, I don't mind doing it as a way to further verify myself since there is no way the hacker would have access to my photo identification documents.

There are a lot of idiots in this thread I'm not even going to bother addressing. You're either just trying to bump up your post count or you simply didn't read the majority of this thread. Everything that has been posted by every other user claiming to be me is a LIE.

Again, I repeat. I NEVER SOLD MY ACCOUNT. IT WAS LIKELY STOLEN BECAUSE I GOT KEYLOGGED BY ACCEPTING A MALICIOUS FILE, WHICH I BELIEVE IS FROM SOMEONE IN THIS COMMUNITY.

Take this as you will. I'm already trying my best to have this resolved ASAP. Even though it's not my money at risk here, I'm doing my duty by the community by doing everything I can at the best of my current ability. I only have about 2 BTC at risk here which is located in my tipping address: https://blockchain.info/address/14PUWBwK854GLenxSa7MAuxXQUXK4DKKi5

The rest of the funds in that address other than the 2.10ish BTC is not mine.

I don't even care about restoring my reputation. I just want to try to get everyone their money back. And I'll go right ahead and say that even if I fail to recover the funds from my wallet, I'll continue to do my best to repay everyone out of my own damn pocket.

It was suggested earlier that some one send him a code to his mailing address so that the real master-P could positively identify himself. This might be worth doing later once he signs an address or begins refunds establishing it really is him to quash the doxing once he is making good on repairing the damages caused as a result of his negligence. I really don't want to dox him, but this is the only way to light a fire under his ass to make sure he does his due diligence to repair the damages here rather than just running away and hiding.

I would accept a video of you holding your ID with your full name, address, and photo, so that I can read it and making a quick comment about the situation as another form of authentication. Any still picture could have easily been raided from your PC. You could upload it to a private server and then PM me a link using www.privnote.com which will erase the text as soon as I read it. Once I have confirmed I have viewed it I will let you know so you can erase the original file. I will keep all of this information confidential of course. I would consider this sufficient evidence to delay your doxing and give you an appropriate amount of time to sort this out and refund the victims.
