So if I steal your money, you threaten to dox me if I don't return it, and I make a post saying "Don't worry, I'm working on it, and, BTW, this is really me!" you wouldn't dox me?

In such case, yes, I would reveal personal information so nobody would deal with that person again, as that person would most likely scam again (or would at least stop scamming now that their personal information is known). But that's not the case we're seeing here neither what you propose would really help right now.

Not sure I understand your ELI5. Please tell me which number you disagree with:
1) TECHSHARE threatened to dox Master-P if money is not returned.
2) Master-P (real or not) makes a post, 'proving' that he is, indeed, Master-P.
3) TECHSHARE, satisfied, agrees to stop (postpone) the doxxening.
4) No money changed hands.

I don't disagree with any point, that seems to be more or less what's happening here.

TECSHARE only agreed to postpone doxing Master-P because he made a post that contained a verified signed message from a previously used address. This makes it highly likely that that was the real master-p, but we do not know for sure. If he does not restore the funds within some amount of time, TECHSHARE will continue with doxing master-P.

Exactly Smiley

Which brings me back to my original question:
This is very encouraging. I am satisfied for now that there is a reasonable chance this is the real Master-P. I am putting your doxing on hold indefinitely pending your refund of held funds. I am glad you are sorting it out.

ELI5: Why Master-P [real or hax0r] posting should delay dox dump?

TL;DR: 1) Is the dump getting postponed? 2) If so, why?

Dox may be delayed because Master-p is supposedly rebuilding his wallet on another computer.

The dox is not postponed.

EDIT: the transaction mentioned by REAL-master-p happened here, as far as I can see, but no addresses mentioned on the thread. It would be nice if the escrow used could confirm the address.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Trolling?

Edit: What I don't understand is how does Master-P posting anything other than tx of money returned change anything? Such a (seemingly) simple question.
If, on Jan 1st, he posts that he redoubled his efforts to send back the money, will that also postpone the doxxening?
Is my question unclear? If so, could you rephrase it as you understand it, so I'll know where the misunderstanding lies?

Sorry, was indeed editing the post. Dox may be delayed if Master-P proves to be rebuilding his wallet. Dox will be stopped if funds return Smiley

He was making stupid excuses to not send the money.

Master-p action of signing the address is a sign that he is afraid of the dox so there is a good chance that the btc will be returned, if he doesnt care about his dox then he will be just going offline forever and watch this thread with another account

Oic. The trolls posing as Master-P, they're also afraid of the dox? Or is there a slim chance he's they're all trolling?

>so there is a good chance that the btc will be returned
Out of curiosity, how good, would you say?

Tecshare seems to have a different judgement about the signed message so atleast it is a good chance . The chances are small actually less than 5 % but atleast it is something rather than he is keeping silent and gone away with the btc

Its wierd that he apparently created a new account with a signed message saying he'd sold his master-p bitcointalk account and associated accounts for 2BTC back in August. He also went on to say he's sorry but cant help and wont be coming back.

Then another couple of accounts were created again saying they were him but that his accounts have been hacked and not sold and he'll do his best to repay the money (which now stands at over 25BTC I believe).

The funds are still in the addresses they were sent to.

So my thoughts are that either this was an exit scam attempt from master-p but he's got cold feet after being threatened with a dox or that his accounts have really been hacked but they cant get access to his private keys to steal the coins.

Whats worrying is that one of the latter accounts created when he said he'd only just found out about this is that he said he was 'going to get some sleep'. Surely anyone with his high standing in the community and wanting to try and keep some dignity and respect would have got a couple of matchsticks if they were tired and stuck them between their eyelids and worked tirelessly to prove they had in fact been hacked and tried to clear their name.

The worrying thing is there seems to be no attempt from master-p to prove his innocence

But after all is said this still doesn't add up, is it an attempted master-p exit scam or has he been hacked?

I'm afraid to say my money is still on an exit scam but I hope to be proved wrong.

If his account was hacked and some guy went to soooooooo much trouble to run around ripping people off
the scammer would not care about the account / rep he trashed.. he'd laugh it off and be gone with the money.

This little scammer pussy got caught.

If a guy stole 24 BTC he'd laugh his ass off and ride into the sunset with his ill gotten booty giving you all the finger.
The fact the coins are still sitting there and we have this whole drama with some douche crying he was hacked is pure bs.

I bet i know where he got the idea from too..
You all recall seeing the guy who had an account for collateral asking of he should sell it (after they owner cried hacks) ?
I said sell his fucking account or we will set a precedent.
Little while later.."I wuz hacked"  Roll Eyes

It's the absolute no. 1 go to excuse for any piece of shit weazle in Crypto !
Rip people off then cry haxors liek omg !111

Fuck em all.. pour gas on them and light them on fire for all i care.
More and more precedents are being set now so expect this stealing shit to ramp up and happen more often.

AND GOOGLE SPOETNIK SEZ............

I warned ALL OF YOU

Faggots will ruin crypto with their stupid scammy antics supporting shit coins like Doge etc.
Then when Crypto dies off they will want to cash out and quit.... and .......
Rob someone on the way out the door.
AND THAT IS PRECISELY WHAT I PREDICTED 100 fucking times.
And that is PRECISELY what has been happening.

I TOLD YOU SO.

EDIT:
This piece of faggot shit pulled a Mark from Gox  Cheesy

Mark shut his site down and said he was robbed by hackers.. for hundreds of thousands of Bitcoin's
Later he had his lawyer announce to the world he had found 200,000 BTC in his couch on a USB drive.
WOW huh "The Couch" + "USB Drive" was GOX's security for the biggest BTC exchange on earth.. who would have thunk it ?

EDIT2:
Mount this fuckers head on a pike for all to see or you will continue to set a bad precedent !

The gmail account I use for this account was compromised, therefore the hacker was able to change my password without changing the e-mail. Luckily the e-mail is a bit of a throwaway I use for bitcointalk only, but that only solidifies the hackers control over my bitcointalk account.

In any case, I don't care about that anymore. I'm back here only to see if I can help resolve this and turn things around. I don't care to have any rep of mine restored, regardless if you guys believe my side of the story or not, my reputation here has been tainted. Simply by the fact that I didn't keep proper back ups and conducted better security practices when accepting/downloading certain files from people here. It was my own negligence, and I understand that. I don't care if I get dox'd or not because I know I didn't steal anything from anyone. Someone here is trying to fuck with me and has been successful with it so far.

I'll keep everyone here updated.

Was your steam account hacked too? I'm wondering why you removed me and made your account private.

assuming the hack is true, it would only make sense that it was (since the person on the steam account messaged me that the master-p account was sold), along with the personal email account master-p used to sign up on that steam account (steamguard 2fa with email).

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

It seems that he still has pretty much everything that was escrowed. At least checked some addresses and funds are still there, independently of where their private keys are.

Spoetnik, sorry I momentarily took you off ignore.  24 bitcoin or even 30 btc is hardly "riding off into the sunset" money.  Maybe in a 4th world country, but where is Master-P from exactly?

I'm the real Master-P. I left this forum over a year and a half ago. Imagine my surprise when I come on here to find that my old account was hacked and being used to escrow deals and whatnot. I've never acted as an escrow for anyone before. I mostly used to post in the altcoin section. I have no idea about the identity of the person who has been in control of my account for the last year and a half or so.
