are we still talking about master-p or has this thread gone completely off topic?  not complaining, just been on vacation and trying to catch up

Steam is full of people trying to phish free gear, sending iffy links to staemcomunity . com or whatever :p   I would guess its harder to scam since valve put in the trade delays and revocation but no doubt theres people still sitting there all day trying their luck

someone filed some bad rep against him, not sure if its anyone here but he mentions bitcointalk, last oct

http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561197994994008

Its listed as unconfirmed, Im not sure if anyone wants to further that so he is clearly marked as unreliable

Yep, I can confirm that is his Steam account.

So what has been done since christmas to recover the lost coins? So far only a handful of people have got their coins returned, but many others have still been embezzled and are do not have the money master-p owes them.

Localbitcoin.com has a built in escrow system. Perhaps such a feature be added in the new forum? We want to eliminate scamming here as much as we can, and using built-in escrow systems work.

Signatures? How about learning a skill... I don't care either way. Everybody has to make a living somehow.

It is really kind of crazy.  Many times, just throwing the word escrow or something like that out there makes everyone suddenly start feeling safe and opening wallets, when in reality that person is no different than either of the other two that are doing business

Enter Escrow2 where future escrows are backed up by parent escrow services which may or may not be administered by the same people. Once that runs its course, enter Escrow3.

I mean from reading the updates, it seems like op learned a big lesson.

But is pretty much the lucky ones out there who got their bitcoin back, cause almost never see a scammer return bitcoin.

Using the person for self escrow - sounds like a redflag despite the rep since if its a good amount they can easily walk away $20k in their pocket.

Nope, he didn't. No one went up his door, he didn't return after sometime to pay back the money. I was scammed 3 BTC initially, but he returned 0.5 BTC. He took with him my 2.5 BTC.

He's still active on steam, plays CS GO, made his steam profile private in order to hide his shit.

I've been able to move around with $20k USD equivalent in my pockets, and done a few international flights with that much cash too (not recommended, depends on your purpose). The OP in this case is not the scammer, but the user Tabata11, and maybe he learned his lesson. Maybe.

One of the lessons in this case, is choose carefully your escrow, whether that is a person or an automated website. It is unfortunate this still happened.
