That's what anonymous author of the puzzle is telling us, and he backed his claim with all these BTC. If he is wrong, someone would pick the money from this puzzle.

Sooo wrong  There is no direct relation between 32BTC puzzle and "real wallets". While searching for modest .5BTC puzzle you can discover 50.000BTC wallet due to collision.

What is wrong in what I said?

Also, there are no known collisions for both SHA-256 and RIPEMD-160 hash functions. Not a single one. Since there is close to 0 chance of finding collision for these hashes, there is even endlessly smaller chance that potential collision would be on BTC private key and not on some other series of bytes. No, you will not find 50.000 BTC wallet by searching for the solution of this puzzle, I guarantee you that.

And it's just an attempt to pull the ears at least to something, otherwise you need to either freeze anabiosis or clone to wait for the puzzle to be found (on one pc). Well, either order the program (which Holy ordered the programmer) with other principles of work. For example, so that you can distribute the common h/s of one card to different parts of the scanning space. For example 10 mk/s for 10 addresses of 1 mk/s, etc. up to 256 k/s. Or to set some border of addresses for random search (instead of manually).

Formula 358 doesn't seem relevant. It's obvious that if you substract n/128 (or something smaller) from n, the result will be close to n.
This is not a pattern.

Vanitygen should work on any hardware. Your hashrate will depend on the computing power.

Nice attempt DannyHamilton! There must be a way to make it much more efficient as the last three addresses were found so fast it couldn't have been by brute forcing.

Maybe if we learn a bit more from how the numbers were generated it could greatly optimize the program.
