Well respected rig owners... Before you cut the box and smell fresh hashes:-) - how much fees did you paid for your very own miner at the customs? And how did they named that stuff? Not sure if any of them put Bitcoin Miners to the goods databases .. If someone have happyended story how to save money on customs - please share for others in your country as it could be for sure very, very useful for all of us. In fact near HALF hashrate some people simply presented as a gift to the customs guys... Update: Thanks for all of you for this information! After getting few more countries i gonna wrap this all info into the one table for more easy access. Sure many of those who just on their way to order new miners will thanks for it. But for now please, don't stop - if your country is not yet in the list, dont forget to reply! We need to know how is YOUR customs hungry . Thanks! Update 2: Please, to simplify understanding for others, kindly use percentage not just amounts. Total amount that you paid out, then delivery fees (good also, but not necessary). Then - how much in percents you did overpaid for your miner. Thanks!

There is no custom duty for computer hardware in EU. You have to pay VAT if you import it from outside EU. VAT is different in different EU member states.
I believe the right code is 8471410090, but anyway, If you are in EU, you dont pay custom duty, but you pay VAT (17-27%, depending where you live).
Here people seem to speak about custom duty/tax when it is in fact VAT.

Who are you referring to as "they"? I see it as the country causing these crazy fee's as it's their law's/import taxes.
I know some view companies as but guy for not shipping lower. Just curious if this is pointed twords the companies or countries as the "they"?

I got %7 to 13% so far. (Same location) I'm not sure how the carriers handle it. It seem like sometime i pay more, sometime i pay less. I'm not sure if its because they were labeled differently (did not pay attention) or the carrier handled it differently.

Here in Finland it's 24% vat (calculated from miner's price+shipping). If I declare it myself I don't have to pay courier company any fees. And if I let them to declare it, they charge me about 20€ more. Pretty much same than Estonia, but we have higher vat. Taric code I've used is that 8471410090 and I put it as a bitcoin miner.

I have worked at the customs. I had to learn to use TARIC. That code is right.

This morning I received the email from bitmain, that the goods have been shipped, I said right away that value had declared to customs. I'm waiting for about six hours and no one answers me

In the US I know that under a claimed value of $2500 there is no Duty or Tax to be paid with goods shipped from China.
I always use UPS and only once was I charged a brokerage fee ($40). Why that one time charge I have no idea as over the past couple years I've gotten several dozen Ants with no fees charged. However, that was when the ordered equipment value was under $2k.
I just placed an order to Bitmain for 2 more s7's and with shipping total is $2545 so I'll soon know if that changes.

want a bet or watch which shipper you use or you may be charge a small a mount . i had it happen , in the US from bitmain or china .!!! then told i had to pay it !!! then told i didnt have to then charged any way . so watch the shipper you use mainly don't use FEDEX if it comes from china you may get a hidden bill for custom fees and taxes from them they claim they paid that was for one S5 i used FedEx to save on shipping bad idea , i have also ordered with ups or a few with ups shipping have yet to get any hidden bills or surprise bills, so for me, i will just pay the 10 so more for shipping and no hidden bills. This might help some. I learned fast the hard way http://x2t.com/423597PS: if they do pay some thing on your behalf as they call it.they will also charge you a fee for doing it on top of the real so called fee then lie to you.

Here in Portugal I've paid 23% VAT of the total batch 8 price. Plus 69EURO for DHL "customs services" + 3.72Euro(customs storage for one day) + VAT of those = 72Euro.

Can't say i haven't been able to afford a S7, i don't do it to make money, it's mostly for fun and keep me sane ,and yea for some cash maybe get back i put in to it . i know if i want to make any thing i need like 30 to 40 miners running some place either in my home or some data center some place to actually make anything over what i put in to it . but yea it is strange how you get a bill for imports in the US with no real reason why other then some one messed up and we have to eat there mistake. is all i can think .
