I had this though going on my mind about all the hyip websites.
All the topics being posted in gambling section and investment related ones made me reach a conclusion.

It is quite obvious but lets take it as a game itself.

Imagine a gambling system ( IMO probably fair my ... ) let you win win win and then when u go big and greedy its over in a blink of an eye.
Who could say all these complex gambling games or system coming up isn't rigged by the coders.

so back to the point,

many of the hyip website come online for a month or so, with good investment of their own to fool people for some time and when they have earn more than invested they jsut disappear.
So why dont we do it like gambling. Just have to know when to stop. read the patterns. since all these website now a days show TXID for legitimacy. i think we could maybe withdraw on the right time.

do not invest more that you are willing to lose. same concept of gambling.

I think that's totally different. HYIP are ponzis meant to rob people from the very beginning. Gambling is super risky but, at least, you can have a small control over it. With HYIP you have absolutely no control.
You said it right here

Yeah the house egde of normal gambling sites will be very small over a bet or 2.  Invest in a ponzi and you probably have what.... 25% chance of ever seeing anything back and thats if you get in early.  Not a game i like to play.

i totally agree with u guys, they are ponzi schemes. This everyone knows.

Even though they are ponzi, some the new website give the option withdraw the pricial anytime will the daily added interest. for eg. there was a ponzi known as cryptowealth
they gave hourly interest and had option to withdraw principal any moment. in such case your can get your investment and few bucks over it.

You mean there will be a code in their script to which if the user will bet about 200btc, he will eventually lose it while if he bet with just .05 or less, he will somehow win from time to time? That's just a trap.    That would be a bummer.  And you shouldn't own a gambling site.  Grin

HYIP is a kind of gambling but the fact that they don't clearly say it is a gamble and that the likelihood of losing is high is why they aren't clear gambling, They are a bad option IMO since the odds can be against you for more than the "spread"

One big difference between gambling and hyip.Hyip were made to short time ,and some achieve medium above 6 months online, gambling is for long term, and well the scripts are made to owners win something, but usually who open and hyip just wanna take your money ,gambling they share a part of what their costumers loose, being the reward.

differing structurally, of course, only speaking about the building or structure, then these two methods of investing there are different and overall they can be called a stretch, but simply put, this is essentially a kind of gambling have to be, though, and in the process we are not "at the table", but all the same quality gambling us required
although this is somewhat their scheme is a huge difference and our direct involvement as such without requiring that fundamentally very different these two ways to earn

I think this is quite different between gambling and HYIP. HYIP is already scam you from the start you are invest on it but with gambling although you make some small bet but with some luck you can win big enough and I am sure most site will pay you out and you can withdraw it directly or may be instant.

read the patterns

there is no pattern in gambling games. It is just mostly pure luck

IMO HYIPs are much worst option than gambling. They are always ending as a scam. And the only trill you could experience with HYIP is to guess when it will goes into scam. At least in bitcoin gambling you are playing vs only 1%.

Yes gambling itself is an High Risk for High profit... there is nothing new!
But in the classical terms on the net, HYIP is refered to a site that pay users investements from investment of other users! Like a ponzi!
Well gambling is not "a ponzi" Cheesy I hope this can clarify Smiley

I partially agree with your post. The coders can be totally responsible for the gambling losses if you have history of major wins recently but that's just with poor gambling sites. You can gamble on reputed sites which provide you to access to their seeds or hash from the server which is part of their random function. The case with HYIP's is completely different. They are made to get dumped one day when they reach their marginal goal. There is no such thing as a "Good HYIP".

No because a ponzi need "more gamblers", a betting site could run by itself!
Like the big company like ladbrokes, betfair, unibet....
They can run with also 1 "gambler" Wink

I think HYIP=PONZI=SCAM, is not equal to gambling, gambling is legal in most developed countries, especially western countries. But Ponzi scam is banned in most countries, so they are not same, and you lost chances are more than win, not like gambling just has a little margin/house edge, which is more fair than HYIP

Better give those money to some homeless guy or other charity cause instead of HYIP scammers! Soon or a later all become scams. More likely soon.

yes investing to a hyip (ponzi in other words (pyramid scheme in other words)) is very risky like gambling and you will most probably loose all your money after some time i think its even more risky than regular gambling
