These letters "HYIP" I've never seen elsewhere on financial sites, and I think this is exclusive to bitcointalk.  I know there are high-yield bonds and funds and so forth, but that's not what HYIP means.  What those 4 letters mean is SCAM.  Yes, I suppose you could look at it as gambling, but all Ponzis are scams.  I'm not sure why anyone would put their money knowingly in one.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

HYIP ? but you can earn money by just sit on your chair and drink a coffee, then you can see your coin will comes to you

Gambling we play it and we lose it(me) no profit always. only people with great luck
Grin Two days later you found more and more users complain unable to withdraw the principal! Then you try to do it but fail! You just see the figure increasing in the account day by day! But you cant spend it!

i agree. hyips can be a sort of gambling because of the risks you are taking. gambling is a game of luck but on hyips , you can guarantee a profit if you know how and when to invest in a certain site. on hyips, the saying "the early bird catches the worm" applies.

almost hyip site is ponzi...just some site not going to ponzi..high profit will be close soon
the first invest will be get their profit...the late will be lost at all...
but gambling not going to close his site...just our luck in play...

Yes hyip site is a ponzi and ponzi always scammed people, they just wait for the right timing to get scammed all of your money. So there is no first come and last come. By the time you coming to their site and put your money there you will have 80% chance to being scammed may be if you put 0.0001 they will give it back but if you put 0.01 or 0.1 I dont think you coin will be back again

Nah, I don't think so because the term HYIP can be found almost anywhere on the Internet. HYIP is a type of ponzi scheme and according to Wikipedia, Ponzi scheme have existed since the early 1900s. In conclusion, the term HYIP is not exclusive to Bitcointalk.

But recently many hyip sites are closing quite faster and some even closed after couple of days so it is bigger risk than gambling. Because in gambling I will bet only on those games where I know what will be the end result but some times only it can fail. In hyip you don't know when these sites are closing. So I think these two are different.

I'm pretty sure they close much faster than before because of lack of interest.
People on Bitcointalk become smarter and smarter everyday (I hope so) and ponzi scam is already a common thing in this forum. Therefore, I doubt anyone who already fall for ponzi scam once or so will fall again for this scam for a quintillion times.

Life sucks.

Gambling is not HYIP and neither HYIP is cause they both have completely different functioning. In gambling you get a fair platform (of course excluding the house edge) to roll among all popular sites/casino's and to win or lose is up to your luck but the other one is an outright scam attempt and promise to double money in some hours..lol

Well then it is a paradox. U see a scammer won't shut down the website until atleast he has recovred the money used to build the site or the script. So the faster the site goes down means people are investing faster and more in short time. Which is totally opposite to what u just said that people are not investing and loosing interest.

I agree, hyip is like gambling, is equally difficult to guess, but I think gambling is better because it is clear and away from the scam, I was traumatized by hyip because sring scam and not reliable.

HYIP isn't gambling. That's simple theft. The only gambling like element is guessing the time when the operator will run with the "investors" money.

I also couldn't find any reason to compare HYIP with gambling. Because HYIP is totally out of control it is like giving our money to somebody else. But in gambling you can stop at any time even with very small profit or with with small loss also.
So, in HYIP  there is no possibilities of preventing losses.

But soon or later all hyip sites will close there business but who ever aims for bigger profit than they will try to push it for longer period to attract more deposits. Once they feel enough than surely all off them will close at the end so don't fall on any hyip eye catching interest offers and lose all you're coins.

All of these sites will close and scam people. I never invest in these hyip sites instead I prefer to lose by myself in gambling.
