Is it profitable enough to put your time into it? From what I see you get maybe a couple cents, then you have to wait to withdraw until you have so many. I'm just wondering how much people make off of these.

From what i've read, it's hardly worth putting your time into running a faucet... You'll be lucky if you break even after paying for the domain name, the hosting, the funding, the withdrawal,...

You won't profit, I swear. You're better off doing something more productive. This has been discussed a lot of times here, and you're only giving the owners ad-profits.

A way-around to this is lots of referrals, or a collector bot - but the captcha bypass may need a little more investment.

OP was asking about playing faucets. For the rest I'm not sure. I'd tend to think that depending on which faucet you're running, you could pssoibly make a few bucks from it.
Now since the question is about playing faucets, yes, it's profitable if you're from Kazakhstan (or Venezuelian). Otherwise it hardly will bring you cents. Signature campaigns are much more profitable.

Faucets address just a waste of time. I used faucets when I was starting bitcoin. Now signature campaigns are much better.

If BTC goes to the moon, faucets will reduce their payouts downwards. Ultimately they'll pay 1 satoshi every time you fill in the captcha and then disappear.
Faucets are now, a bet on the future. It's a bit like mining was at the very beginning of bitcoin, back in 2009, when the electricty bill was higher than what your bitcoins were worth. Except there's even less warranty that you'll end up making profit from them. Plus you'd be better off finding a small job that pays you $25 and buy some mBTC's. Faucets are really slow money compared to a job, and they require work too. Filling captchas all day is a job, no matter what you say. Just it's like a job that pays 100 times or so less than taking the trash out at a Mc Donald's. Really really not rewarding. But the pay is directly in BTC. You don't need to convert. That's one thing.

If you thing long term and just saving as much satoshi as you can it is a beginning strategy for bitcoin. And it is useful for learning the bitcoin environment basically.

If you click 8 hours epay.info/browse (not my ref link as is not allowed) you can make 0.005 BTC daily without any problems. I have made about 0.044 BTC in total without referrals, I don't click a lot, only on Weekends when I have free time. I suggest this faucet rotator to anyone willing to make 0.01 BTC in a week if they keep doing their job. Its better then most mining websites right now. Grin

As a user, the trick is to have the most referrals you could so your earnings will continue to grow even though you don't use yourself but in case your stuck with yourself only then you could earn around $1 within 8 to 10 hours so you shouldn't expect much but it would be good as an extra money in the end of each month if your consistent in using it.

Faucets are only profitable if you can get tons of referral to double or triple your work to max out the satoshi you can get from it. Also if you can operate a bot then maybe someone could get atleast around 0.005 to say that you can earn decent from it.

I will answer realistically and go straight to the point, I would be VERY surprised if you could make $1-2 per week. If you make that kind of money then it means you would have like 20 tabs opened in your browser all the time and remember when to claim from each. The best way would be using those faucets that pay big daily or semi-daily.

It's a waste of time unless you are the owner of the faucet and you get tons of traffic, other than that it's just pointless. Sig campaigns pay better but don't expect much, it's also a waste of time in the long term. You need to work for real money.

If you get a shitload of money or if you are rich, the bread crumbs given to people from faucets would be a waste of time. You can get much more from doing other tasks for

fiat and then buying bitcoins. I enjoy experimenting with faucets and seeing how creative people can get with them. I like Freebitco.in the most because they incorporated a

donation idea I suggested to them. {People donate some of their faucet income to Save the Children charity} There are better ways to make money... but it's still fun getting

free money from strangers. {Some faucets used to pay full bitcoins, when it started and look what it's worth now... imagine the same thing happening to the few Satoshi's

they are handing out today}

Faucets are probably useful to check out new wallets, but as a source of earnings, they seem to offer very low returns for your time.

Won't profit because electricity & internet connection price will take everything you got from faucet.

This, except the undeniable fact is that 99% of all faucet users are kids in their home who want a couple bucks - so they don't pay attention to that as much.

Okay, OP, I'll sum it all up for you.

If you want to go solo and make all your profits come from directly the faucet (no referrals), then a couple cents a day will be a profitable day to you.

If you get a ton of referrals for yourself - and I mean a TON, like 5,000+ - then you'll make a couple bucks a day. But this requires lots of time and lots of work, which just isn't worth it.

If you operate a faucet, it *might* be profitable to you, but only if you use Google AdSense because they pay around 10x the other networks - especially bitcoin advertising networks.

No, don't waste your time. Some bitcoin related sites and blogs have installed faucets as a way to increase traffic, the more common way is just to give away some Satoshis to get you on their mailing list.
