I'm. Of seeing the point in this unless you sre running a massive data center and have tons of extra space or have some sort of server you in co trol of at a company and you can use the extra space. Then you still must map it. How are you guys profiting ? I see how much a HDD is and it will take forever to break even then I can't use the HDD since its plotted and I must keep like ten HDDs stacked on a pc 24/7 using eoectricity. Given I can mine with the pc but burst just seems to me something someone with extra space they have no need for use. Am I right in saying this ? Or am I missing somwthing ? I do see the community is large I was watching this thread wince burst began and its true it will only go up in value but still.

I'm not trying to be negative. There ia no doubt this is a good coin. That's not what I'm desputing here.

The mistake you're making (and many make) all you're looking at is the return TODAY.  Mining and immediately dumping it all on an exchange is different than holding.  If you believe BURST will go up significantly the next 6 months, year, 2 years (or however long you're willing to hold) then it could be a GREAT move.  If you don't think that then don't get involved.

I can only speak for myself, I got into BURST about 7 - 8 months ago... I bought the coin, traded, invested in assets, and also mine a bit with 12 TB.  I'm up more than 20x on my investment so far.  Yet going back 7 - 8 months ago there were these exact same comments... "what's the point of this coin if I buy HDDs, how could I make money etc, etc, etc".

BURST profitability is a lot higher NOW than it was even 2 months ago - despite the network "TB estimate" having more or less doubled in that timeframe.

3 months ago, I was figuring out how long ROI would be on a Seagate Archive 8TB - and came up with almost 2 years.
I did that calculation early this week - and came up with a low single-digit MONTH figure - which caused me to actually pull the trigger on buying one to stick into the "new rig" I'm going to be building up when the parts arrive next week.

For someone with severe power limits, BURST is probably the highest income/watt coin in existance and has been for a while.

I dread the concept of BackBlaze deciding to use BURST to test their new-built "pods" and "vaults". 8-O

You're totally right, I just hope the price stabilizes and doesn't crash because last pump was very short lived.

I'm sure that the price won't crash or go down much more as once Bitsler adds Burst it should help stabilize the price and maybe even start to rise again. In the meantime we will continue to keep mining and adding to our rig which currently is at 18TB and we want at least 20TB for now. Then once the price starts to go higher we may think about adding more drives to keep up with the mining difficulty.

That's a great idea, I'm planning on buying an 8TB but all my computers are already using the maximum USB ports because of small capacity hard drives and I only have one more available, I really would rather not have to buy a new PC to avoid the cost. Can BURST be mined with like a Raspberry Pi or something like that which would make it cheaper?

Burst should be mineable on a Pi - but I wouldn't try to mine a BIG drive with a Pi, they're quite slow.

After drive is plotted you can pretty much mine on everthing, it doesn' need much. You can even mine on android phone with SD card.

What the heck is a Bitsler?

Is that some new small exchange?

Lol No. Search it on google man.. It is one of the most popular crypto gambling websites at the moment. Wink
But anyway I don't think making casinos take burst as a payment/gambling option will be the pillar on which burst will grow. We must focus instead on the asset exchange as that together with the community can make the burst economy great again.  Cool

Yeah well maybe you could buy a USB hub to connect more drives to it that way like we did. We bought a 7 port USB hub 3.0 and connected 6 drives to it so far as my brothers computer only had 1 USB 3.0 port on is computer. Once we get the next 5TB drive our hub will be full and we'll have to see what we'll do from there. Hubs are pretty cheap as you can get them on Ebay or Amazon at a cheap price but get a good one and not one of those crappy Chinese ones.

I haven't had any issues at all so far the last day or two on the Ninja Beta. Other than not enough miners to crank out blocks, but I got the honor of hitting the very first block kind of like solo mining right now. The block paid out right away and the shares build and pay out also.
