Cryptsy just became Mtgox 2.0 and you people are still trusting ponzi investment web wallets and storing your money on exchanges?

You don't own your bitcoins if they are stored on web wallets or exchanges ... you have already given them away and can beg for there return which may or may not be facilitated. Controlling your private keys is 10/10th of ownership.

Earning interest on BTC is against the very principle of Bitcoin.

You get interests on fiat deposits, as they are not protected against inflation. The interest payment is made, in order to compensate you for the decline in the purchasing power of the fiat currency. However, the purchasing power of Bitcoin will not decline with time (due to controlled supply), and therefore interest payments don't need to be made for deposits in BTC.

Try lending your coins but always be sure to secure it with a collateral. Don't rely much on investment schemes as they will likely turn out to be a scam. There is a lending secgion here in the forum, you could also try btcpop.co and bitbond. They offer great service and security for the lender. Goodluck!

You can earn interest on BTC by investing it (Which is not necessarily accomplished by just investing it, the asset also has to perform) on any reputable platform you can find, or through holding it somewhere that offers interest like poloniex or other services.

Alternatively, if you feel like loaning it is a better way to do it, sites like BTCJam seem reputable right now, so you can look at those and aim to loan our some of your Bitcoin.

Make sure to do your own research, though. I am not telling you what to do, just giving you ideas.

How do you earn interest on BTC?

Hi, I'm using BW, which gives you 7% annually (0.02% daily) and haobtc with 3% annually ( hourly increments )

It's not much, but that's why reason I trust them rather than other HYIP like investment.

the only way is to dump some coin, to buy some pos coin, that is supposedly stable, then you cna earn interest with that pos coin, and convert again in bitcoin

but the market of that altcoin, will be most likely fluctuate so you need to be careful when selling

We can earn interest from PoS coins, but the price of the coins might drop as most PoS coins do.

Do you ever heard HYIP ? i think it's good to invest on HYIP, but if you don't know how HYIP works you should not try HYIP. my advice is just invest small-medium and pick short-term.

Right now the best way to gain interest is to buy & hold your bitcoins, in the next months you will earn interest, well, at least thats my feeling Tongue

Amen! like everything is this life, the education is very important, people should research things like you said before getting involved on bitcoin world, even following this philosophy you can be "owned" Tongue but at least you will avoid most of the "bads ways to work with it".

because of the nature of bitcoin i never liked any sort of method of investment. it makes it doubly hard to trust any investment options.
i know of a couple of exchangers that pay you daily interest if you hold your cryptocurrencies in their site. but everybody knows about the risks they have. just check how many times they pulled a gox or an alleged hack.

For the exchanges that pay you interest, it is better to avoid that. One example is the Vircurex. It is closed.

Earning interest on Btc through investing on other sites is not recommendable, because you wont be having any control on your investment if anything happens. It is much better that you can start lending service in the lending section. Their you can Lend Btc to the users by accepting collateral. If the user defaults the payment you can sell the collateral and save you investment.

One more you can do is trading in bitcoins if you have knowledge.
