If you are an idiot believing in superstitions and useless 'golden rules' from the past then everything could be a sin for you.
The real sin is only when you are hurting others and yourself in the process. Everything is for people, you just have to do it right.
And you can be responsible gambler!

Yes, yes it is. Among the major Abrahamic religions gambling is an insult to God since you are putting your faith in chance rather than God.It is also sometimes considered usury.
Don't worry though, many of the things you do everyday are considered abominations. Things like eating anything from the water without fins. Or failing to shave the head of a woman without a veil. We live in a time when you can do whatever you want and easily find another person who thinks God is fine with that.  Wink

Deuteronomy 4:2

Gambling is not even mentioned in the entire bible, it is not a sin.

Please stop with this ancient revelations. Bible is great and all, but some of the 'laws' from Old Testament should be treated with grain of salt.
There are many examples and I give you one:

The Bible - Lev. 11:6-8 says touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football?
Can I have leather gloves or can I have leather upholstery etc. Don't be paranoid guys.

Leviticus 16:8, “And Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat."

1 Chronicles 25:8, "And they cast lots for their duties, all alike, the small as well as the great, the teacher as well as the pupil."

Psalm 22:18, "They divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots."

Matthew 27:35, "And when they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments among themselves by casting lots."

Acts 1:26, "And they drew lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles."

In the bible it is called "casting lots". Which is a religious act because the believers do not think randomness is possible. God determines the outcome of a gamble.  Not that I believe any of these things.

I personally don't think it's a sin to gamble. But I do understand why some religious people would see this as a sin.

I think this all lays within personal believes and the way you see things from wrong or right.

In my eyes gambling is not a sin, I think this question could be different for anyone here. I don't see it as sin but someone else could see gambling as a sin. I think this is just a difference of opinion how you see things differently.

If you gamble for greed and money, then it could be considered a sin.
If you gamble for entertainment, then it's not really a sin.

Why would you care though? You were promoting a scam knowingly, which is a sin.

It may be wrong, but it's not a sin. You are only hurting yourself of your own accord.

You simply have to understand that gambling is no profit source, it is a game. A source of entertainment. Nothing else.

Whether something is a sin or not is solely between you and your god.
My take on this has always been that if it doesn't hurt anyone and everyone is doing it of their own free will, then it is fine and not a sin

There is nothing like that. Both of them you saying is gamble so it is the same thing. It is just some perception that saying gambling is sin. What is the different between trading, you also gambling but only a different perception so there is nothing to do with sin as long as you can profit it is ok

Both are the same thing; gambling, but they are actually quite different. Gambling for greed and money can take you over and ruin your life; you will constantly need money to fuel your addiction. You might even borrow money to gamble from others. However, gambling for fun is recreational, doesn't take up all your money, and won't hurt people around you if it is purely for fun.

I think it is not a sin to gamble as long as your religion allows it. And in most countries it is illegal so you can only do that underground or online behind a VPN.
