Gambling can quickly lead to a combination of the 7 Deadly Sins. Does this mean that gambling itself is a sin? No, but it leads down to those roads more often than not and people who gamble often already have traits or are actively participating in the 7 Deadly Sins. A game of chance for money isn't really against any religion that I know of. It's just a type of game.

I think if i am winning good amount with gambling than it is good for me and it is wonderful way to spend my time on various gambling sites, but someone lose huge amount suddenly than he feel so bad and in that kind of situation it is sin but it depend on our situation and i don't think it is sin to gamble.

Gambling is considered as sin in some religions.Even in some parts of the world it is illegal and others it is allowed.We can not reach to some common result.It is something which most of the times leads to its followers towards deeper troubles and social and personal problem.It is sin or not but is prohibited and disliked as well.

Personally, i think it is a sin, and most of the religions not allow the gambling, but i don't want to go in deep, but it is clear that gambling is a bad habit, but if we play it like a fun or entertainment, so it has an other meaning. But so far as i know in my religion not allow to play gambling, and i accept it. |

yes it depends on religion. but I think every religion forbids gambling and it's a sin. because gambling is bad so it was really a sin.

To gamble is to decide on possible results in which would likely be on two or more choices for a result or even an uncertain result. Since sin was mentioned then some of us would likely link this with religion which could be a sin or would not be. It is like doing something with multiple possible results and leaving it all in the hands of God to whatever the result will be. But if you say sin in the laws of the land then it could probably mean doing wrong for violating a rule of law in which depends if it is legal or illegal to gamble in that country.

I don't think consensus can reach some where to see everyone on the same page.Gambling is sin or not regardless of the views.It is a social problem which caused many social problems.Gambling is good as long as person is aware of its effects and has full control over his emotions and plays for fun,entertainment and making some small money while enjoying gambling.

This thread going on from some long time now. Its a sin an all major religions and people who conduct a relatively healthy life , by going to work , trying to live normally. Its not a sin for all low moral people who thinks its nothing wrong to gamble and take other people money from this activity. I also think consensus will never be achieved here.

Whether you're winning or losing shouldn't really effect the fact if it is a sin or not. Gambling is not inherently bad, it's the chasing over lost money that is. And that's where you start to get debt and do bad things to get out of it. So gambling isn't bad but you made it lead you to do bad things. |

Yes even i too not play much and i treat Gambling is just Fun and Entertainment only. So here gambling is not wrong if you earned money from gambling and loosing it in same gambling is not wrong but playing with our real money is problem. SO gambling and betting is not sin. |

Why would gambling be sinful? Maybe the attitude towards gambling is sinful because you get greedy. Also you might get really mean towards people if you're losing so that's a sin. Gambling itself? Probably not...it's just a game for fun and people take it too far.

I think gambling itself is not a sin, however, it may very well lead you to do things that may cause harm to you or other people's lives. For me it's a form of entertainment, and a very old one at that. The problem is when people become too addicted to gambling even when they don't have the means for it anymore.

If someone is religious person than gambling is sin for sure but i think the most worse situation is that when we got busted all of money there than we have a lot of though into our mind, from my personal opinion gambling is not sin because for some people it is way of living as they have good knowledge to make good profit.

It is not a sin if you gamble for fun but if you are addicted then it is a sin because you will lost time for your family and to socialize with people, gambling will become your god and Jesus does not want any God except the Father.

In addition, it falls within 4 out of 7 deadly sins.
