Is it a sin to gamble?

Well we could not really recognize gambling to be sin because its not bad to have fun unless a person steal money just for gambling, the sin is the crime commited which is stealing for money. Sinful act doesn't justify how deep is the sin commited by a person who is addicted by gambling, and through gambling addiction a person resulted to commiting sin.

I think it depends on whether the person's religion defines gambling as a sin. Some religions forbid their followers from gambling because it may lead to othee vile greedy actions. We just have to respect other people's beliefs when it comes to how they look at gambling

I responded to some scriptures including the Bible with full consideration of logic, analogy with things easier as we are not allowed to gamble by parents when we were kids, fear is the majority of addiction effect that can cause everything including sin, gambling also contain the same elements. But if we think with full responsibility, that suggestion doesn't apply. We use 50:50 pattern, half of gamblers will perform brutal after losing a gamble but I assume that I personally was in position of the other half, I included gambler who is able to manage myself from any situation positively.

That is it, what better advice can you give to this people who don`t like to gamble and think that gambling is a sin. But people like to stick nose in other people's business, here that is more obvious then in real life, hidden behind all this nicknames, people are free to wrote and reveal things about themselves more.
For people sin is something that they don`t like, and cause they don`t like it they call it a sin and talk other people how that is bad, and other shitty things. I don`t pay attention too much on all the people, you can go crazy if you get bothered what will people think.

It is not that gambling is a sin, and calling a City, into a Sin City has its own reason, Sin City is an urban that caters to various vices, various means there are many things that is going out there and not just gambling is the reason why it is called the Sin City, the vices are, sex related services, including prostitution and strip clubs, Gambling, Drugs, and excessive organize crime and gangs activity. There are a lot of Sin Cities in the world and not all of them, includes gambling on it, that is why it is not really a sin to gamble. Excessive gambling activity is really not good to a ckuntry and it's  people.

I know, they call them Sin Cities because you can't just get out without doing a single sin – according to the Bible (the temptations, which those cities have, that almost no one can resist). So aren't all these vices considered sins? Or Gambling is excluded?

We have a choice to gamble or not, if you are a religious person and you believe it is a sin then it's not good to gamble anymore. As for me, I do not believe it's a sin because it depends on an individual on how he will handle himself when gambling, it's a risky game and that is true but with the right discipline you will be able to fully experience the meaning of gambling which is entertainment.

some religions forbid followers to gamble. And religion would not merely prohibit gambling, because gambling can lead to a lot of evils. Who are you to say it right, gambling can lead to greed, addiction, stealing just to gamble and others. Because of these things was some religions prohibit gambling, followers not to be greedy, stealing and others. But whatever it is, do it according their individual belief, if your religion forbids you should not do.

Some said gambling is a sin ,even i see gambling a sin i knew i am not committing a sin because i do it in the right way as you said with discipline ,So if i have an extra money sometimes i used to gamble and the thing is if i lose what i afford i stop playing. This includes our self control maybe yes it a sin but not all the time if you do it for good times. If money is our will it may become a sin ,'money is the root of all evil' but for fun its not bad thing if we don't be too much.

I believe everyone's belief in this matter. There's no right answer and there's no wrong answer as long as we can justify our opinions regarding this matter, it's true. And for me, I will say that it's both, it's a sin depending on the situation and it's not if you are a decent gambler and you know your limitation and what you do.

I'm really confused about your statement, You said that Gambling is a evil hobbit but gamblers are not evil. Everything that do a evil hobbit is also an evil. Not the evil creature but people that doing sin. Actually, Gambling are not mention to the bible but there are context that pointing to it. But this thread was a case to case basis of an answer, For example, For religious people, Gambling is a sin because it is against their doctrine, While for gamblers, it is not a sin because this is just their hobby. We can't convince everybody based on our own opinion.

Yes, either gambling itself or its consequences must be a source of sin. When we are sure about the bad affect of gambling, I believe there would be nothing wrong to call gambling itself as a sin. Because we do see people are ruining their life due to gambling addictions.

Addicted gamblers are almost criminals in society, they never bother about their responsibilities and not at all taking their health too. These are symptoms of evil and hence gambling must be a sin.

Normally it is a sin. It is a sin because gambling can make your psychological feeling very bad in case of losing money, even when you win money strong emotions are not that good for the psychic of one person. I'm getting their point for considering gambling as a sin. Because a gambler will always think about money and if always think about it that will lead to love of money. I'm getting their point for considering gambling as a sin. Because a gambler will always think about money and if always think about it that will lead to love of money. That is right only when you are addicted. If the person loves to make money through gambling but can control himself when he has no more money to gamble and he start doing other things, like working for money and not trying to make crimes or illegal deeds to get the money to gamble then it cannot be considered as a sin. I agree with the Bible though, money is the root of all evil if one is not careful how he manage the money.

Not all of the vices that you can do on the Sin City is not particularly a sin, but it is an addiction. Prostitution is not a sin, lust though, is a sin, gambling is not a sin, but greed is. Drinking is not also a sin, but gluttony is a sin. Having or involving on Criminal or illegal activities are not a sin, though wrath is a sin. Not all of them are really sin, but it depends on how you do and look at it.
