Addiction is different from believing it as a sin or not. For those to whom gambling is an addiction will never think it as a sin and yes they're like a time bomb, if the addiction get to their head then they'll do anything to gamble. I have seen some ridiculous stories of gamblers to get money to gamble. I don't think it's a sin if you just gamble for fun and not putting more money than what you can loose.

Well my addiction is nothing to do with sin because I dont really gamble alot of money. If I spend alot of money only to gamble or trying to make money from it then Im a sinner however I only play a small amount. Even if I win the amount is just very small and it is not really amount of money that I could use

It may be how a person think of it. Am I making a sin while I gamble. If he is doing it the wrong way then it could be a sin. It will all come to an end to how you will control it. Am I just having fun or am I already eaten by gambling that I cant get out of it. Or cannot live a day anymore without doing one bet.

And besides the addiction to something is not a sin that is a sick that is need to be cure because addiction can be cured but sin is not.

Yes people have different cultures and religions depending on what do they believe. In our country it's not a sin.. it's something that we have to treat like sickness so most people get into addiction they undergo rehabilitation depending on what they get addicted with. It's like a behavior that you need to straighten up so you can get back on the right track.

Of course gambling is not a sin. What we should consider as sin is when we don't control ourselves for risking what we have that shouldn't be put at stake. Only gamble what you can afford to lose and stop letting your greediness controls you.

Of course you can prevent doing some sin not cure just like a sickness/illness. Gamble for most people are something bad and it is a sin based on a lot of religion principle. So if you want to call it as a sin then just say it as it is true, if you don't want then just shut up.

That's the way to stay away from addiction. In reality this happens with very few users when they are much into the gambling. Very few state it as an sin relating to the moral values as well the religious factors. In my view this is not a sin until it is done with limitations and not being greedy.

different people have different opinion about that, some people take it as sin, because in some religion gambling is sin while in other it may not and everyone is representing their own religion and therefore give statement through the light of their religion.

No I don't believe it is. It is up to the player to know when it is time to stop. So you are the one who should be in control of your next actions and not the responsibility of the casino establishments to govern your actions for you. So no sin there in knowing this before going into one to gamble and play there.
Youre right gambling is not a sin as long as you dont steal money in order to play in gamble because now a days many people are addicted in gambling but we cannot control them because it is a habit of the person wants to play in gambling. most of the people in this forum consider gambling not as a good activity and for most of the time they try to convince people again and again to stop gambling, admitting the fact that gambling can ruin the life of a person because when they start gambling then it become difficult for them to stop it, so my opinion gambling is a sin, because in gambling there are more chances that it will ruing the life of a person.

I think what they think is not what they are doing, some are not being honest, they keep advising not to gamble but in reality they gamble heavily. It's very evident to all of us that gambling can really give fun but along with the fun we experienced, there are also risk and we could also lose, the bad thing is we only win sometimes but lose most of the time. Now, if you cannot accept that reality, that is when the problem will start.

Gambling is just a game. You must not out your life savings into a game. A game is to enjoy not to make money. You can make money short term but if you s gambler you must realize you will be paying to be one.

If you think it is a sin to gamble than you also believe in religion? If you believe gambling is a sin do you follow every other rule of that religion? I think it is hypocritical to say that gambling is sin if you don't believe cruseing is a sin, which almost everyone has done.

If gambling is a sin, then thousands of churches across America are promoting sin among their parishioners with their weekly bingo nights.

Burned, and you do have a point so we cant really say that gambling is a sin because we should not generalize all things surrounds on it seeing on the current situation most places do really have their own gambling places/casinos and shall we say events. If its considered as a sin then all of people will be all sinners and its not really appropriate.

I think they get around bingo being gambling because the cost for each board is really considered a donation and if you win it is considered a gift?

For me we need to define sin first before we comment further. What is sin? How can gambling become a sin ? I think answers to these questions will help put the arguments in the right perspective.

It is in the bible to gamble is like sinning. If it is related to greed then the Bible do not agreed to that. Gambling is a harmless fun in some instances, but it is fueled by greed. If you win something, casinos would want you to stay to gamble more. Make your money to grow more, but the truth is, you will lose everything in a snap if you do it again. Casinos only wanted your money and not about your feelings. They are the real greedy but they have an excuse to say, business is business.

When we are basing on biblical thing then its really a sin to gamble but in modern times its just really created for pure entertainment and yes it does really fueled with greed which if a certain player have weak self control you would eventually fall on this addiction and greed would really come out even more that is why casinos is really a profitable business because of these greedy people.
