Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

While masternodes are certainly a possibility for the BERN future, 'seg wit' for BERN makes little sense. First understand, 'seg wit' is a way Bitcoin is trying to deal with its congested blocks and high fees because of that congestion from full blocks by using reserved 'segregated witness' space. BERN supports up to 10 meg blocks already and is nowhere near full blocks, much less considering trading away functionality because of them.

But masternodes could be a possibility in the not-so-distant future, sure.

Hey ^^

Im a noob miner atm...

Question is..

Is it still worth mining BERN atm?

While i was still learning...not long ago...and i was observing random coins......

I saw BERN go "RIGHT OFF"! at one point in time, and i kept it in mind ever since.

So now, that i kinda know what im doing....

Should i be mining this right now?

Thx!

Hi xxkaiwaxx,

There are many things to consider beyond just the selling price when you ask that question, xxkaiwaxx.

- We are now in the second phase of PoW mining. The first phase had about 50% of the supply and now we are in a much lower block reward phase. It is only 10% the block reward it was just a few months ago. But, the other side of that coin is many miners have left in sight of the lower block reward. This greatly reduced the mining difficulty.

- BERN PoW utilizes the X14 algo. Some people 'prefer' to mine X14 for various reasons.

- Everything you PoW mine now, you can collect 10% annual interest on into the future.

I would say, if you believe in this project, you should mine it, yes. But, you will have to weight the factors. I do not know your electricity costs nor your target. Also consider this is a very 'far-sighted' project, hence this current PoW phase lasting until 2020. This is to coincide with our next presidential election here in the states. The project has an immense infrastructure to support its very sound blockchain into the future.

Thanks for the interest, xxkaiwaxx! I do hope you opt to continue to MINE THE BERN!
