I disagree. If you were trying to hide you would choose the most common name available.

I doubt it was an alias.  He wouldn't have picked such a rather boring alias, anyway.  He would have chosen some cultural reference of some sort.  Not a plain common japanese name.

Razor Theorem say that it's his real name. His life are probably typical of that of an average hacker.

thats what I think, too...

it's strange that you don't find Satoshi on any popular social media site. if he'd be a known hacker or computer freak / specialist, you'd be able to find him nowadays in the internet

Probably because everyone on this thread is more interested in the fun in mystery than the high possibility of an anti-climatic reality, so no one has bothered to PM him about this thread.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Isn't there a part in the apocalypse, where humans will use numbers as money and will thus be enslaved by the beast ?
No, humans will use things with number 666. And they do it actually now. Explore bar codes.

if he'd be a known hacker or computer freak / specialist, you'd be able to find him nowadays in the internet
Why he should not use nicknames in other projects?

ups.. just looked at the photo and it looked like  a woman..
I see you're not familiar with modern Japanese culture. Look Japanese clips, they all look so.

Two other questions :

Considering that it's very likely that keynesianism oriented people will try to modify the protocol in the future, how confident are you that there will never be more than 21 MBTC ?

Also, do you think the current block chain will be the definitive one ?

Good question, because officially, bitcoin is in "beta development stage".

That is actually quite normal for a hacker/specialist.

I also try to keep away from any social-oriented sites, because they do great harm to one's privacy.
Most of normal people don't realize what these sites are doing to them, so they don't care. People who know how stuff works much often avoid such risks.

I am doing that myself, and many of my colleagues which are IT specialists do the same. What is put into internet just once, stays there forever.

Yeah, that's pretty much why it would prove difficult to figure out who I am as well.  I take my privacy seriously, because I have some extra-ordinary reasons to do so.

Don't ask.

An other hint concerning Satoshi's goal.

Have you seen the timestamp for the Genesis block ??

extract from main.cpp :

Code:
const char* pszTimestamp = "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks";

Seems quite clear to me that Satoshi was angry about the "too big to fail".
