this is the problem.

 Pool sproutsextreme Thread 2 getblocktemplate call failed for daemon instance 0 with error {"code":-8,"message":"Invalid mode"}

from what i can find out it needs mpos to run this coin.

This worked to get past the stuck block, difficulty is pretty much the same as the last block, I also added these nodes just to make sure.

Read Above and the last couple of pages, block 6685 is the stuck block on a different chain just look at the timestamp, a fix to be on the same chain as both SPEX Pools was posted.

Block 6995 as of this message on the pools chain.

Thanks a lot! The wallet is syncing now. Turns out I had to replace the files in both the folder the application was in and AppData/Roaming/Spex

The total network hashrate for Spex is ~16Th/s, while https://spex.maxminers.net has 14 of that.
Pardon my ignorance, but is that unhealthy for a coin? Can Spex get 51% attacked?

Also, is there a block explorer for this? If not, you should offer bounties for making that, as well as faucets to make this coin more known.

According to the block explorer there is no pos blocks, did I miss something ? Maybe pos doesn't start until a certain amount of pow blocks I must have missed that part in the announcement. Unless it is just an error with the coin.
