Well, solo mining was fun while it lasted. Time to put that miner back on ParallelCoin.

the pow mining difficulty is very low, the pool is likely just getting adjusted to the massive amount of hashpower getting thrown at it. i wouldn't be surprised to see a decent amount of orphans until things stabilize.

Thats exactly what is going on. Big rigs mining low diff and causing rejected shares. I am mining myself and getting the same results. I see a lot of rejected shares on the back end. Should smooth out as the diff rises.

So whats next?

If everyones client is stuck on a block and both pools are on the same block but creating new ones then that means fork, you say rebuilding wallets but what is that mean to achieve ?

If you say screw the fork and want to  jump onto the forked chain then go ahead lol I should mine 7000 blocks on a completley new chain and then say "hey guys I have the most recent block and node" upon doing that all the coins you had would become non existant since it is then on a different chain.

You dont understand Coins. Its not always the longest chain that wins. Dev can choose which chain that is valid. It should be the longest chain that is the most valid one, but go ahead and make your own fork and see if all the others and dev will choose your chain.  ;D

I can't sync when using addnode=spex.maxminers.net and with nodes from OP
i'm stuck on block 6685.

It seams thats why it forked. Most hash was on that pool and no one could connect to that node.

Anyone having issues should try this blockchain.

It can fork again so it needs to be solved by the dev. In this case the shorter chain is the right one. Pool was mining and no one could compete or sync with it.

WoW omg it's fixed, for now.. till checkpoint is added possibly later tonight.

Till then, think we should thank Steve321 and offer him a decent donation considering if it was not fixed we would of lost any coins we got.

Interesting fork of the original Sprouts coin.  I wish the staking time was closer to 1 day instead though as I am very impatient to receive my stakes.

Lol you misunderstood my question & answers, I meant that anyone could start mining from the stuck block with their own hashpower with a Stratum Proxy & then bump their blocks up to around the number that the pools are on or the last current block, then say the above.

If maxminers gets the most hash again then it will fork again if problem still persists.

Read Above and the last couple of pages, block 6685 is the stuck block on a different chain just look at the timestamp, a fix to be on the same chain as both SPEX Pools was posted.

Pools are working good & in sync with wallets, I can confirm that I am receiving payments.

Nice network hash of 70TH/s. All we need now is a block explorer and an exchange for Spex to actually "sprout"  ;D

According to the block explorer there is no pos blocks, did I miss something ? Maybe pos doesn't start until a certain amount of pow blocks I must have missed that part in the announcement. Unless it is just an error with the coin.

I told you that it was going to be forked again if problem is not solved. And again...

Dev fix the client up, it's probably forking because there is something regarding the "Original" Sprouts still in the code.

Trying to get a windows compile done that should fix up peoples getting stuck issues. The github has been checkpointed.

After attempting multiple times to get the wallet to sync I disabled UPNP on the wallet and restarted and it started to sync right away. Just thought I would let all know if that affects it or not.

I have double spends to myself & can't fix it with the recent bootstrap, -rescan, -salvagewallet, -zapwallettxes or repairwallet

Every time I use repairwallet it finds mismatched coins and adds it to my balance, I restart the client & the process continues indefinitely.

It all started when I sent my staked balance after they confirmed to another address and 2 confirmations in it decides to send the very same transaction again and never confirmed.

I am using the Windows wallet as well.

I think you will be able to get it fixed.  Also, if you right click on the list of transactions, you can do a Clear Orphans.  Did you happen to make a backup of your wallet before the re-sent stakes?

Also do those first four transactions say "0/Unconfirmed" if you look at the details?

Yes they do but my balance just keeps increasing in the display, I had this very same problem with the original sprouts right at the beginning too, I just remembered how I got them out now, I have to use coin control to send them to a separate wallet on another PC, delete this computers wallet & create a new one & resend the coins back to it from the other computer.

I also have a double receive from a pool of 1.712957 spex that won't confirm & I can not get rid of, clearing the orphans only clears the real orphans.

Yeah sometimes those unconfirmed ones just won't go away.  You have the right idea sending to another wallet.  Also after a while, too many txs will clog up the wallet and make it take forever to start...

Well I had to import my private keys to another wallet to get my remaining balance, all is good now, just have to delete this wallet and start fresh.

For me to stake Spex, do I have to have my wallet open 24/7?
And also, is it easier to stake my coins if they're from one big transaction (eg. 10k) instead of a 3k, a 6k and a 1k?

idk, i had 800 and 1500 spex stake at day 5. so far  at the current moment I would say it doesnt matter how large it is, itll still be 5 days.

For now the blocksize you mentioned dont matter. you just have to open your wallet every fifth day. Later on when there is more mined and staked coins it can take more days to get your stake if you have to small blocks. Bigger blocks is better so use coincontrol. Wait until coins have staked and then join them. Remember that you lose coin age when you move them so do this so little as possible. 

I would say that the block size will always affect the rate that you stake at.  That is the very principle of POS that the bigger the block stakes faster and the smaller ones stake slower.  Check out some white papers on Proof of Stake.

The blocksize he have mentioned will stake dependend on luck after the 5 days. Later on its much more importend to have big blocks when competition is higher. That means that his 800 coin block can stake faster now than a 10k because of luck. And if he makes a 10k block he will lose coinage so it can be even worse. Its all in white papper and in real use.

So use coincontrol but not if you are sure that it will stake after 5 days because you lose coinage every time and the block starts over again to mature.

The pos difficulty is low right now so you wont notice much disadvantage for small blocks. going forward the pos difficulty will rise and give some advantage to larger blocks and allow them to stake faster. faster staking gives more compounding so big blocks are the best way to go.

love that service bootstraps for all sorts of coins and one time i was even looking for one they didn't have? they strapped it and had it up next day ;)))

i personally am leaving my smaller tx's and not combining them, im thinking with the "20% per extra day to stake" not only once they DO stake will they get huge bonuses, but it stops me from having to combine the stacks and start the 5 day maturity over again ;p

For now it might be ok but personally the bigger the weight the more quicker it stakes with total compounding, my coins in 2 blocks staked at 4 days which is weird because the coin is based on 5 days stake :-\

I wonder if it is PoS 1.0 or PoS 2.0 if it has done that because 1 is based of blocks and the other is based on network weight.

BTW every time you stake coins it isn't that hard to wait until they mature and recombined them into 1 block or so since when you stake and leave it, it just recombines the coins anyway but into halved inputs per stake.

So Say you have 50K SPEX in 1 block, stake, then let it recombined itself, you will have 2 new inputs (2 Blocks) of 25K SPEX, then once they stake you will have another 2 inputs (2 blocks) each, so 4 more blocks but each totaling 12.5k SPEX, it will continue to do so until the inputs are too small to stake or take a very long time, the interest you gain on the staked coins go into their separate inputs (Blocks) and continue to do the same as for the aforementioned.

It looks OK to me. There were more hash outside the pool that made the diff go up and the pool did not find so many blocks in 24 hours time. Now someone else is also mining and 8 blocks found in the last hour.

Isn't Reward based upon PoW Difficulty ? I'm pretty sure it is that since reward varies per PoW Mined block, the lower the difficulty the more coins you get.

It's the math!...He multiplied and then divided by the same variable which is senseless!  ( 6 / 3 ) X 3 = 6 so all it states is that 6 = 6.  It's waste to write: nSubsidy = (nSubsidy / CENT) * CENT because it states the same exact thing as: nSubsidy = nSubsidy

EDIT:  Okay, I just looked at the code in context.  I guess it would make sense in terms of difficulty because that's all it does is increase the difficulty of the statement.  And, the more complex the variable CENT becomes the more complicated the processes become....Hmmmm.....interesting....registers don't simplify.

This coin has very slow movement

When I asked the dev about a possibility of a Staking Android Wallet he said he has already searched for someone & they currently have it in the works so shouldn't be too long off.

SPEX shares some similar characteristics with CUBE since that was derived from the original SPRTS, CUBE has an Android App that stakes, so I assume they are going off that as a base.

Having some Sprouts grow Extreme in my pocket would be quite fun :D

It is time based, even when the original sprouts was in the hundreds of millions, 300K SPRTS would stake in 8 days max, 5 if you were lucky.

With 500K SPEX coins, right now you will definitely stake on the 5th day even with the amount of coins in existence, remember the coin is still in its early stages.

I don't know about the dev & what his plans are but my idea is to spread the SPEX around and get a lot more people into the community while giving it some PR work.

The Pool & Block Explorer are showing their last blocks as 27911 as well but the wallet is still going moving blocks on the network (27958 as of this message)

Well it looks like some peoples wallets have forked, including my own....

If YoBit, Cryptobe, or MaxMiners Pool can provide their bootstrap files for the community that would be great as they are all on the same main chain still.

PoW has taken over on the forked chain that is ahead in some wallets so the transactions from YoBit get confirmed but on their own chain & the sends you make never get to YoBit because they are completely different.

Once everyone is on the same chain then your coins that you think you staked or sent will be ready & available.

I think this coin gets stuck so many times that it isn't worth bothering about until a permanent fix is available.

Bad coding and a dev that disapeared. If you bought into this crap coin then you had no luck. I doubt that it will go anywere because there are a lot of problems with it and the high PoS reward kills it. Linux wallet can stake while windows wallets are fighting for connections.

If the blockchain can get back on track, I'll update CryptoChainer, but there would be no point, if it's not moving...

This coin has forked hard to the left and is stuck in a round-about with cars blocking every entry/exit lol

Go into your roaming folder, find SproutsExtreme, delete everything except for wallet.dat, download the most recent SPEX bootstrap files located on cryptochainer.com (http://cryptochainer.com) then extract to the SPEX roaming folder.

Start wallet with -reservebalance=9999999 & wait for it to sync up then close the wallet.

Re-open the wallet without resevebalance & wait for your stakes to roll in.

from now on there is no point of keep downloading the block chain anymore for me. I will wait until Dev fix the wallet or someone take it over or let it die.

I compiled the Linux Qt from the recent Github Source and it has a different splash screen saying who it was fixed by, anyway no problems with it so far.

I suppose if one really wanted to they could compile the SPEX Linux Qt Wallet and copy over their wallet.dat from their Windows Wallet, sync up and stake.

Or just Import your Private Keys over to the Linux Wallet.

Just to let everyone know and to beware that the coin can be very unpredictable at times.

It can be performing normal then for a couple of days to a week the blockchain will fork onto whoever has the most coins on that chain, I think SPEX has a vulnerability being exploited like the original PeerCoin Timewarp hack since it was built on that base.

That's almost a fork every day.... I too recommended to stay well away from it unless you plan on fixing it or doing a coin swap to an unbroken base.

Well take this example, whatever is on yobit accounts at the time of the swap (With picture proof) are part of the swap as that shows holders of the coin, the coin will use a new base with a brand new chain and premine for the swap, as mentioned before the spex chain is very unreliable and not working so that will be the only way to make sure of original coin holders since the coin forks all the time and anyone can have fake coins in their home pc wallet.
