What are you going to do when an invading army comes after you? Are you going to simply lie down and die? The invading army is everyone who fights against God. God wanted peace for them, but they would have none of it; instead, they turned against Him.

The only thing that God could do was order the one nation that obeyed Him to go out and destroy His enemies.
