Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Did you launch the bot through the wallet, or just launch the .exe?

Oh wait, it wouldn't work if you launched it directly through the .exe.
Is your CPU fast?

It might be too slow, I'm not too sure. You'll probably hit a block soon if you keep mining.

I am not 100% sure that it is mining. It probably isn't worth it for you if you've been mining for 1 hour and haven't found a block yet.

I am finding a block ~every 2 minutes.
When the bot is running it makes my computer freeze up. Chrome doesn't respond very well.
So I made it only use 3 cores of my CPU instead of 4. Now everything is smooth again.

If you would like to do this here are the instructions:

Open up Task Manager. Find the motogame.exe process.
Do this instruction if you're on windows 10-  right click > go to details.
Right Click > Set affinity

Then deselect the 1st core or select only the cores you want mining.
I leave the 1st core unchecked so that my computer has a core for the other processes.

Is this the latest wallet : https://github.com/motocoin-dev/motocoin/releases/tag/HMCtesting3 ? It says that it is a pre-release and it has been post in September 2014, so that's a bit weird.

Yes, it's the latest wallet. It probably should have been renamed Smiley

Hey everyone.

I have recently started bot mining motocoin and it's going pretty well. I am mining 20 coins every few minutes.
I guess that will change when the blocks halve, is there a countdown location were I can see that?

My only concern at this point is that some of the blocks mined are not being accepted in to the chain.

I had most of last nights mining rejected for some reason. There was a long list of coins mined but rejected with a -1 of 6 (i think) error.

I stopped the miner / bot (by force closing in task manager) and restarted the wallet, but all the rejected coins dissapeared....

Is there something I am doing which could be causing this?

As I am typing this I got a new notification for another 20 coins mined, but that does not appear in the trasaction list. The next notification did make it to the transaction list and appears normal.

You can see current block number on the "game" tab. Reward halves every 1000000 blocks.

1) Try to sync your system time.

If it doesn't help then:

2) Are you behind NAT? Try to setup port forwarding then.

Thanks ElvenArcher.

I will try to resync the time and see what happens.

Not at all sure if I am not sure if I am behind a NAT.

I plan to update the wallet so that in the game tab of the wallet there is a button for the bot to mine and a button to play the motogame to mine.
Then we can bundle the bot with the wallet.

It may take a while because I don't really know C++ or QT very well, but I'm sure I can work it out.

Just look at your nearest C++ for Dummies book & Qt for Beginners. Cheesy

Start out by learning to create a basic click button window tab. Wink

Hey Nthused, yep that's what I'm doing! I was following tutorial for QT and since I live in Queensland I get a free pass to Lynda.com so I'm looking at tutorials involving C++ on there.

Hey all

I just mined my first 20 MOTO using the bot.  Smiley Has the halving happened yet?

I have an i7 CPU that currently only allocates about 50% to this mining, with affinity set to all 8 threads (4 cores). I read that others had 90% load - is it because I have a superior CPU, or am I not utlilizing it properly?

I played Elasto Mania when I was younger, what a great and addictive game! Check my signature if you want to play another great bitcoin game: Chopcoin.

No

Oops

Open "game/game.cpp" and replace

const int numThread = 4;

with

const int numThread = 8;

Then recompile it with VisualStudio 2013
