It's hard to estimate cuz I don't even know how many percent it is today....
but I kinda wonder what the price would be if it's 100%...
100% would probably mean war on banks govs and 1 btc = 1 btc. Everyone needs internet first. Maybe in 20 years this could happen, it wont be pretty though. It's going to be a war and it will not happen, government will always win as they regulate things and we abide the laws. Government only exsists in this configuration while we want it that way. I know there is a certain amount of manipulation but once the public want to truly change the gov structure it will happen. Its a service for the public after all.

Even 1% people on Earth own bitcoin by 2020 is big step for bitcoin and it means most people already hear/know bitcoin by then. Maybe the percentage could be higher if something crazy happens such as most big company/services (such as amazon, google and apple) accept bitcoin or economic crisis which force people to safe their money.
As we can see that still a very little number of people know about bitcoin, so we can expect that in 2020 the number of bitcoin users will not be so much as people are expecting, but I think that if the number of bitcoin users raise to 1% it will really be a good progress too.

Does anyone have an studies or research done on the amount of bitcoiners within continents? Without hard research we can only guess, and my guess its way below 1%, because currently 1% means 75 million people, that's a huge amount of people, I don't even think we are past 1 million active users yet.

Let's be realistic. It is certain that now the amount of btc users is even a lot less than 1%. In fact, most of people suppose it's about 6 mil people, so it is around 0.1% of all the people on Earth. Even if this amount increases in 5 times it would be half of a percent, so I don't think that it is possible for the amount of users to overcome the first option in this poll.

In my own opinion since i still not experience of friends talking about bitcoin or other people here i think 10% to 15% that can own bitcoin in 2020.. since we are also increase population and bitcoin users also increasing we can not reach even 50% in the future.. but we are growing just like we are heard another news 20 stores in paris.. and i hope that every each country has stores that can accept bitcoin too..

It is difficult to even know the amount of human population using bitcoin right now let alone in 2020, personally I don't think we are going to see a great and sudden amount of people adopting bitcoin so I think 0% to 2% is about right.

Most likely we are at that range in 2020. But we can't predict what will happen in the coming years, it is possible that the users will increase, or it is also possible that some users will leave bitcoin. The thing is, it will depend on the impression, how the users see it and how they are confident to propose bitcoin to their friends and spread the news about it.

You are pertaining to the world's population? I don't think that people who are using bitcoin by the time of 2020 come will even reach to 5%. Because the world's population is really a lot and for just a short period of time that can be hard for bitcoin and for the people to adopt it easily. There are needs to be done and cooperation by the government for its implementation in able to reach good percentage of users.

I vote 40-50 percent. I vote it because I believe in bitcoin growth in the next four years will be very large. I feel the progress bitcoin, is now beginning there was some bitcoin adoption in various regions. It will be very affect the development of bitcoin so would push people to use bitcoin.
I have voted for far less than that but to be honest I wish, your option should turn in to reality. Yes, we will need an aggressive awareness campaign by bitcoin users’ community to reach that milestone and I can tell from my own experience that people would love to use this amazing technology. We just need to tell more and more people about bitcoin, that’s it. Yeah my thought is the same it's less than 40 percent. The popularity of bitcoin is not that much when it comes to rural areas in some countries. We have to think that most countries are not rich when it comes to technology.. but if we could influence others and try to introduce the benefits of having a bitcoin.. little by little it will be popular and more people will be involve in bitcoins in the future. Yes, in remote areas of most of the countries, people have not even heard about computer so considering large part of the whole population is really aggressive optimistic approach. Giant companies like Google and Facebook are working on this issue and they are building awareness of the technology in such areas so I see a very good future in next 10 years that will be a concrete base for the technologies likes crypto currencies, till then we can create awareness in rest of the areas.

well we both believe in bitcoin and all the benefits it can give but I think 4 years would be too short a time for most people even be aware and have access to bitcoin much more to own it. there are some countries that have limited online access and we all know that bitcoin is an online currency. more people would be using it after 4 years that's for sure but I don't think it would be almost half the earth's population I think not, I think the rise in bitcoin users had happen earlier in the year ago. So the next 4 years was enough time to reach people using bitcoin. In the future price of bitcoin will be good even continue to increase, so will make people to use bitcoin. Moreover, a few months of the many factors that make bitcoin prices continue to rise so that the rising prices can affect people so interested in bitcoin, and this will definitely affect the future.

It always depends if the government will not intervene with bitcoin, if they see that businesses like payment processors online are losing because of bitcoin they might take their power to ban bitcoin, the fact that we are making money here and we are not paying taxes, there's a big amount of money being lost from the government.

Have to go low at 0-2% unless a large event that forces a mass amount of people happens. I can't see it outgrowing its current growth patterns.

I think this is to high taking into account that a significant amount of the world population does not have electricity thinking we can reach such high percentages in such a small period of time seems unlikely.

2-5 is my vote, that is reasonable. Even we are around 1 % now, in next four year bitcoin popularization can explode. That can happen with so difficult situation around the world people will try to find better solution and that is bitcoin, kids are smarter then ever before they can push bitcoin a lot in the future, I have faith in them.

Indeed, if we want to think of adoption then the numbers will be far, far less. Simply opening a wallet and storing some faucet satoshis as a casual user already qualifies you as owning bitcoin. But to adopt?

But there are new to crypto and very curious and open wallet and then just leave it their, nothing will happen.

The adoption is increase so probably it will increase, for me it's still 1% as we have not witness a massive adoption yet and even the price of bitcoin cannot be the basis that we are increasing in huge number.

I think that it will be slightly greater than 2% just because of the law of increasing returns, ;p if you have 100 people each tell one person thats 100 if those people tell one more person and etc.

But you must understand there are also limitations to that especially because bitcoin can be difficult to people to accept, for example I have been unable to get a single one of my friends to open a bitcoin wallet and to use bitcoin, and I have some who are avid gamers and could have benefited by the cheaper prices on games given in the forum,
