Its obvious this thread is dead and even OP would have forgotten he created something like this...

This thread is already old to consider, look at the date, and no such follow up query are being followed up by the OP.

As it says..

Ok well for whatever reason I don't really understand it seems I can't close the topic ^^'

Maybe it's because of the option I selected while creating the thread... Don't know.

Anyway the thread is at list unoficially closed Grin

somehow you are very interested in the lottery, which is not necessarily where you can get it. I don't think that it's a good thing for our lives, for the lottery is a game of luck and we'll never get a good opportunity if people are following more than 4 people

Hey people,

I was wondering, would you be interested in a bitcointalk.org lottery?

I didn't saw any and I'd like to organize one.
It could be a rather easy daily thread. Every day you can come and buy any amount of tickets you want at 0.01 btc then we could draw a number. Or maybe do it on a larger scale to have bigger prizes!

I'm totally willing to organize this  and I could send enough funds to a trusted escrow so you can be sure I'm not going to run away with the coins xD
Like if I escrow 1 btc it means I could sell until 1 btc worth of tickets without you to be worried of me running away!

The only problem I got is that I could still play with an alt and then make enough dran on random.org to make me win, so does anyone have an idea on how I could draw a random number and prove every one it was a true random unique draw and not my 56th try to draw my number? ^^

If anyone is interested don't hesitate to answer in the thread or pm me Smiley
This will be a nice idea where you are going to host this kind of event or no? i did't saw any of this happened in my entire life here in bitcointalk forum and if you are going to host a event like this pobably many people are going to join and you are going to use escrow record it whenever you are going to make a draw Cheesy

At least you can tell the time when you will do the randomizing and also recorda video starting at that time. I saw many people doing such things for lotteries.
As for the idea of such a lottery - I think it will be interesting for many people and can even encourage some new to use Bitcoin and become members of Bitcointalk forum, so good luck  Wink

Why not? Probably it would be worth trying and also could be fun. But how it would be organized and who will monitor that everything is according to the rules? How could we know that it wasn't set up? This idea needs to be more detailed.

i think your idea of lottery in btc is good . but in my opinion this will be wrost if there will be scam because no one can clear that how did you choose the person to reward/win him . so i think it would be better give a better platform for clear these things . then everyone will attract toward this program of btc lottery .

If it would work just like how a real lottery works then I can see it being successful and become a not scam job as some here might think.
It can be done and I have seen similar things like raffles being pull of here so why not a lottery. They are sort of similar in certain ways. Smiley

I think its a little bit hard because we are talking money here folks. Just as what you said you could  possibly create alts which you could know the  number results. I do like the idea on  a lottery but  the hindrance is  on how to show to winning numbers. I would suggest to make a live video on facebook during draw date and showing the number i guess.

As op said those  amount  would be collected would  be  on a trusted   escrow , the  main thing  or problem he was saying about  on how  he would manage to  show legit  numbers  on doing raffle. As other member said he could do actually  facebook live im sure  it would  be possible.

The thing is it would require extra time to proof to the people the lotery is being legit, but thats the only way to build trust and let the people really invest at such thing.

Its basically too much work, takes too long, its very hard to trust someone with escrow with that much money. You might as well go to a dice site and bet on 0.01% win rate and if you win, its exactly like winning the lottery.

It's totally different in dice game to win bet on chance 0.01% is pretty small even you do this method for 1 weeks not sure you can win these bet.

If I'm honest - No I wouldn't be interested in a bitcointalk.org lottery. I'm sure others will be though & if you have honest intentions with this then I wish you good luck with your venture.
correct. I think not many people who would be interested in this game. many existing lottery games

Its a good idea provided there is a big jackpot for a small entry cost so like a 1btc jackpot isn't enough IMO.  Then i worry how do you protect against corruption if the idea does get big.  Is there anyway to decentralize this?

I would be interested in signing up for a lottery. Since they are commonly not too much to enter then I say I would be able to spare a couple of bits at this moment. Wink

It is nice to see some positive response for lottery based on Bitcoin. I think OP has left the thread much time ago but all this feedback will surely be helpful to someone new who is interesting to run something similar. What I have seen people usually don't show any interest and neither me I will not join an lottery which has small amount to win.
