Trading is quite similar to gambling but in that sense every business has a risk factor which makes it gambling itself. Whether you gamble by playing games or invest in a new business, you are risking your money which may lead to a loss but gambling is always looked down upon and not a business as you are using your skill and knowledge while investing in a business. Gambling is just a prediction/luck based game.
To some extent I too feel that trading and gambling are same kind. If we don't have any knowledge about trading/gambling, you can end up losing. In trading, our loss can be less but it's not the case with gambling. Also, trading is considered a legal and appropriate way of earning whether in forex/stock markets or bitcoin trading but gambling is not right. Addiction in gambling is the worse part.

IMO, yes, when something which you can’t control and include profit and loss (in money), I will count is as gamble…
if in that way then what business you are doing that is also gambling , because most of the products are in commodity so their is always full fluctuations in your business products but that dont mean that you are doing gambling, Gambling means expecting high like jackpot to become millionaire in a day Trading means doing profit slowly and steadily which gives you constant profit but small. actually what I think is ''life is a gamble'' too, no one can tell what will happened after your study, no one can 100% sure to tell you will have a good job after you finished your Uni... and no one can tell can you still open your eyes after you go to bed tonite no need to bring that wide open meaning of gamble here. you have just gone too far that miss the thread. plus, your example is weird, i mean, read it for yourself.

in my experience if you ever consider trading as another form of gambling then you are doing something wrong. because unlike gambling, trading needs a set of skills that makes it different from chance based games like gambling.

Nothing is 100% in trading. There are some ways when you can analyse the chart to determine whether the market is in a bull or bear market. This way, you would have an edge when the price moves as you expected.

For me yes. Same with gambling with ames in casinos, trading also has a risk. It can also be a 50/50 chance on wether you will get a profit or a loss. I do believe tho that if you have a pure knowledge in trading then it will not be considered with the same risk that simple gambling in games has. In trading there is an intellectual involed while in gambling I think that i is plain luck.

Trading is only gambling if you are completely uneducated on what you are buying. For example I have ~.015 (HEAVY fluctuation) of random shitcoins hat I bought just in case something gets pumped and I can take advantage of it. On the other hand, educated trading can be one of the safest things. If you know the margins for a coin then trade it and make huge bank.

Ok so for most of you guys, trading is different because it's not based on pure luck.
But fact is it would mean that you consider poker as not being a gambling game? As it's not based on pure luck just as trading! ^^
You are right and almost every gambling also depends on skill too, like if you are playing dice, you will obviously win more or stay longer longer in the race until you have a strategy, once you start betting on 100 multipliers basically depending too much on luck, you will burst.

I think trading is not like gambling. just a little bit of luck. the trading need is ingenuity. knowledge and skills. different with gambling

For the starter of this. That is a great question.
Hmm you made me think of it. Trading have risk. Gambling is supposed to be a game. But gambling have risk also because some uses even their last money to double or triple it. Trading also have that way, but when you have knowledge on the movement of a certain currency or some good predictions it is not that big of a gamble.
Really hard but for me it is a NO.

This way, you would have an edge when the price moves as you expected. But don't invest money in market for short term profit because it is almost same as gambling and you need only luck to make money from this method. No calculations will work for predicting 100% correct price movements so just invest money for long term perspective in share market to make some decent money.

Trading with good analysis, speculation or good experience is partially trading, but trading with pure luck or no experience is pure gambling. But, in this life full of decision and it's similar with gambling Sometimes, people say trading is just legal/economic version of gambling I totally agree with this, all forex trading forum have discussed things like this , and most of pro opinion are like you mentioned above. No skills , no experience = trade gamble . But with skills , experience it's the real trading. But sometimes everything need a luck to make it perfect , include doing trade.

I'd say yes for these reasons: Gambling is defined as this: take risky action in the hope of a desired result.
When you are trading, you are risking money in the hope of making more money, so you are risking something for a desired result. When you have skill while trading, you might profit most of the time, so it's still gambling, but it's less risky gambling. So in conclusion, I think that trading is a form of gambling, but the risk can be lowered considerably with skill.

Trading is much better. There is a higher chance that you can make more money with trading than gambling. You waste a lot of money with gambling and that is very bad. You must be lucky in gambling and you must be smart with trading.

I believe so trading is not gambling in a way how they process. Trading is negotiation process to earn something and mostly for investment purposes unlike for gambling this is a form of game and just trying the luck or have fun but not sure if you will gain money on it.

if you think back trading is very different from the gambling, and you're right, trading is still much better, because you can develop a strategy to be profitable, in contrast to gamble just rely on luck

But trading is a slowly profit but the method to earn profit is almost the same as gambling because in trading we wait for some huge pump and then sell it so you will get profit. Same to gambling too we wait the exact number to comeout then we get the profit, basically both trading and gambling are the same thing, it just uses different method to gain profit
