This thread is to document the state of bASIC refunds in a convenient list all in one place.

To play along at home, if you have requested a bASIC refund, post in the thread this information:

 * Order date
 * Order number
 * Quantity BASIC01 (the $1069.99 72GH/s unit)
 * Quantity BASIC02 (the $599.99 36GH/s unit)
 * Quantity BASIC02 --> BASIC01 upgrade
 * Order status currently shown on website
 * Payment type (Bitcoin or credit card)
 * Date refund was requested
 * Date refund was received (empty if not received)

All fields are optional.  Feel free to omit any that you think may compromise your privacy.

For all dates, please use the international friendly date format: 17-Jan-2013

If you requested a refund, and then cancelled your refund request, with your final disposition being to keep your order, then please do not post.

Edit: All orders are to be refunded: https://www.btcfpga.com/forum/index.php?topic=1048.0

#1331  1x 72gh/s waiting for refund since Jan 6

Moral of the story, don't pay in bitcoin if you think you might ever want your money back. Got cash back from my credit card orders 24 hours after filing a chargeback with my bank.

edit: order status = refund requested

#xx7, placed in Sept 2012 for 3x72gh

Requested refunds 8 Jan (AM)

No official reply via email or any other means

After a couple days of waiting, intiated disputes with two CC companies which provided credits (3 x 72gh)

Received an email from one CC company stating 1 of the 2 orders on that card was refunded by merchant.. so, I assume 1 of 3 orders were officially refunded.

Piss poor operation as whole ran by Tom to say the least...  outside the whole ASIC side of things.. a kid running a lemonade stand would run a better business than Tom..

Disheartening indeed to see some later refunds returned after some refunds that have not been returned.  Shows major disorganization and unfairness.

* Payment type (Bitcoin or credit card): Credit Card (too late for chargeback)

My first order was before yours, my chargeback request was about the same time, and my card gave me the chargeback.  It's their judgement call.  If you are a good customer with no previous issues (and no history of chargebacks) they have the latitude to allow your chargeback.

My advice would be to call back and politely explain what happened: you were purchasing some computer equipment and you were told you would get your device in October, then November, then December, then January.  Then the owner disappeared and the person responsible for handling orders told everyone they should just get a chargeback.  Simply tell them that you feel real stupid about how you were scammed and that you hope they can help you out.

If they still insist they can't give you the chargeback, remain polite and tell them that you still would like to submit some sort of report so that hopefully it will be harder for anyone else to get scammed by the same company.  There is still a (small) chance at this point you will get your chargeback.

Wow, the bASIC announcement wasn't even until Sept 3rd. Is the order date a typo or reversal, or did you place an order pre-announcement?

I thought of that, but the other dates he wrote are Month/Day/Year.
I know some people have said they bought units even before the announcement, and Jeff seems like the kind of guy who might get the inside track.
