I like Ripple as company. I don't like Ripple as coin holding.

I would love to have a share in the Ripple company and would hold longterm. Holding utility Ripple coin is just useless. Service users of Ripple don't even have to use XRP. What exactly is the idea behind the growth of XRP other than speculation?

And are you expecting Ripple to surpass marketcap of Visa for example?

LOL

Bro do you arrive in 2018 soon?

Murketcahp of vihsa  Grin Grin Grin

What marketcap does the $ or the € have?

So you actually think that Ripple will overcome USD or EUR and actually replace them? Wow.

Don't be so naive. If the governments or central banks want to have their own currencies, they indeed will have them. And it doesn't matter what solutions do business banks use. When you will receive a fine it will have a FIAT currency price written on it. And you will need to pay it with FIAT. Repression is sthg government will always have over any crypto currency.

Tell me what's the marketcap of currencies?

*change my mind. Go!

Assuming XRP was classified a "virtual currency" by the department of financial services US

A total supply of a currency, by definition. But it doesn't make sense to calculate marketcap of fiat, national currencies...

XRP is a virtual currency of a company. Thus, it has some known supply and known price, so marketcap can be calculated.
Marketcap of a Ripple company is something totally different. And that marketcap counts. XRP marketcap is a useless speculation.

Are you an economic expert with background in finance? No?

Tell me why BTC is worth what its worth and and its not a useless speculation and why XRP can not be valued higher than BTC, please.

Well, I do have a bachelor in economics (Master will be in my pocket hopefully next year) and I do work in finance. I wouldn't call myself an expert though. We are far from that, mostly experience is needed.

BTC is a speculation. So is Tesla. That doesn't mean that they are worthless. BTC has the power of "the first one" and its worth is in technology imho. A lot will have to change for it to become massively adopted and I don't mean just technology-wise. Also regulation and mentality of the people-wise.

And I didn't say that XRP can not be valued higher than BTC. Actually I do see a future, where XRP has higher marketcap than BTC... It's just that I don't see that how could XRP atm stand with so high marketcap. Correct me if I am wrong, but you don't need to use XRP to use services of Ripple company.

Ripple company I grade very high. And would love to have stocks of Ripple (do they exist?).

Let Critical Thinking be Your Guide

Blog Location:  https://xrpcommunity.blog/let-critical-thinking-be-your-guide/

In my latst blog I review all the latest news - and I describe why critical thinking is guiding crypto investors to #xrp.

𝐑𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬:  Brad Garlinghouse gives a sterling interview on hot-button topics at the Singapore Fintech Festival; CIMB Group announces their membership in RippleNet; SendFriend gets specific with regards to their xRapid implementation schedule; Evan Schwartz explains how Ripple views Layer Two; and Version 4.0 of xCurrent includes a surprise you'll want to see.

𝐂𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬:   Stefan Thomas and Ben Sharafian sit down for an interview with Epicenter, and it is a big one.

𝐗𝐑𝐏 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬:  Wietse Wind reveals that XRP Ledger History is now available to the general public via Google Big Query; KingBlue makes phenomenal progress on the UpholdReferral contest; and an XRP fan publishes an "epic movie trailer" style of video about XRP.  And WietseWind announces Paper Gift Accounts for the XRP Tip Bot, just in time for the holiday season!

I hope you enjoy the read & thank you for the feedback!

Sincerely,

- Hodor

Yes, if anyone bought this coin at a low price about 2 months ago then now is quite ok, because their price has risen abruptly and won second place on CMC, that is a surprise for money. electronic. I did not even think about it today

How I love Ripple, this is the best coin in my portfolio, I bought it a hundred times cheaper and I am happy that I have it. I think she will return to her heights and I will earn on it.

Hey guys,

hoping someone can explain....

I understand that I must keep a minimum of 20 xrp in my wallet to do xrp transactions.

But what about on trading exchanges?  Can I send 100 percent of my trading exchange xrp to  another person/wallet?  Or does the trading exchange have to keep a minimum of my 20 xrp on their individual accounts?

Now investing in XRP is an extremely wise decision, the longer we hold them, the higher the profitability is, personally, and I believe there are times when the market will recover again

Well Ripple showing some uptrend even crypto market bleeding badly. Now holding XRP is the best option and buy more will give you more profits in future.
As we are seeing Ethereum is going down and price at around $170, some youtubers said that it's a trap never sell at low price. Let's see what happens next.

I think each created wallet has to keep those 20 XRP

I would like to hear people's opinion on XRP/Ripple.  News, Trends, Concepts, Technical Issues... anything pro or con that might be indicative of it's survival or growth opportunities in actual real world use cases.   Or things that indicate it's failure.

Here is my two cents to start it off, starting with a Disclaimer.
Disclaimer: I have weighted portfolio of Bitcoin (5 - 10%), Ethereum (70 - 80%), XRP/Ripple (10 - 25%). I'm a HODLer, not a Day Trader,a nd reportionments are done rarely based on trends.  My purpose of this post is to try and determine whether a repportionment of Ripple is appropriate.  And I am currently of an equal mind.  33% to lower stake.  33% says stay hte course.  33% says increase shares.  So real certainty here I tell ya!  LOL    Hoping someone will say something here to un-jam my mental logs.

My current facts as "I" see them....

CURRENT PRICE:  Ripple is doing absolutely nothing.  No real motion in any direction except sideways.  Only recent facto that may be contributor is the court case that allowed prior founder (McCaleb) to unload his billions of XRP at a current rate of "0.5% of average daily volume for each day of the week, including weekends and holidays".  So hardly anything of much substance, however, the fact that the price hasn't gone down means that there are at least enough buyers to keep the price even.

NEWS: I keep a very steady eye on Ripple, constantly trolling news, webs, boards for info.  Again - nothing.  Almost a total black hole of current news.  The only recent "news" are name dropping tidbits about SBI Holdings in Asia wanting to use Ripple.  Microsoft Azure being open to Ripple blockchains.  R3CEV hinting at Hyperledger open to Ripple use cases.  Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) running a Ripple Blockchain Trial.  Press Releases about 42% savings to banks using Ripple.   And vague references to Interledger, which is sort of analogous to Hyperledger or Lightening network in a way..... talk, no real world scenarios yet though.  And all of this very hypy-vague.   Just little tidbit trickles of "News", "non-News" actually, that basically says, "Hey, we're alive."

GENERAL THOUGHTS:  I think Ripple/XRP IS still alive, and due to the nature of its business model, is in "secret development" mode.  I mean, you won't see news, until you see news, but whe that news does come - it may be a hard break.  My opinion is that will most likely be up (obviously - I DO own it), but I guess it could be down, or it might even be just a really really slow up if the news is not dramatic enough that other coins (Bitcoin/Ethereum etc) aren't also releasing big news, and thereby suck up all the investment money that might go into Ripple/XRP - thereby blunting the reaction.  However, it could go the other way,a nd we could get good news out of Ripple / bad out of Ethereum/Bitcoin, and the pressure could be exacerbated up.   Also- the whole "premined" aspect doesn't bother me that much.  With all my crypto investments I am looking primarily at actual eventual use case scenarios to determine value.  The 2nd tier money coins (Lite, Dash, Monero etc) are of no interest, and even the Utility coins (Emercoin, Maidsafe, etc) seem a bit too spiky/dodgy and subject to market manipulation/risk to me.

Ripple is obviously a top tier player, but a little lacking in discussion at present.  Thought I'd fire up a topic.

Peace,
- david
Ripple is a coin based upon the idea of global value transfer. It is a protocol which help the banks to transfer funds globally at the speed of lightning. Many banks like standard chartered have partnered with ripple. It is a project which has the potential to revolutionize the global banking scenario without any doubt. I see tremendous growth potential in this project and I think it's value will surely be close to 5$ within an year or so. It is a coin worth holding.
