Why i think price will be trending up: Waves token will be the fuel of the whole platform and all transactions happening there(issuing assets, trading, conversion, withdrawing), fee in Waves token, additionally Waves is inflation-less system with total supply of 100 Mil and there will be incentives from the network itself for just having Waves token, what even gives it more value is Waves fiat operation and parthnerships with Mycelium and other payment processors which will make this coin very wanted.
Good points, very exciting. If WAVES gets adaptation on a global scale then it has a bright future. If Sasha can break the barriers of fiat exchange..... A HUGE IF!!!! every ICO buyer will be able to buy a LAMBO otherwise this is just another project, and be happy if you double up. 1ex.trade already doing this

Blockchain platform Waves has issued a statement to warn users about suspicious operations with Waves tokens at cryptocurrency exchange Yobit. Pre-sale of Waves tokens was finished on Wednesday, June 1. Even though the coins cannot be withdrawn from a personal account as yet, Yobit mysteriously added a WAVES/BTC pair. The statement posted in the project’s official blog reads: “We have no evidence that the exchange’s administration took any part in Waves’ crowdsale, nor that it has any amount of WAVES coins. Moreover, Waves’ team attempted to contact Yobit’s administration to no avail”. The project notes that, as Waves tokens cannot be withdrawn from a personal account at the ICO website, they most certainly cannot be deposited at the exchange. “In fact, Yobit sells some liability to provide Waves’ tokens to users in the future,” the statement adds. Waves team also noted that the price of 1 Waves token at Yobit significantly exceeds its current market price, which stands at 0.027 BTC (around $14) at the moment of publication. Notably, similar situation has already occurred to other projects that had recently held an ICO, like Lisk. “We do not recommend to effect any buy/sale operations with Waves coins until the main network is launched to the full extent, and coins have become withdrawable from the personal account,” Waves’ statement reads. The fact that Yobit, Kraken, Gatecoin etc. sell IOU's before launch of new ICO projects isn't really news. No idea why this warrants any attention.

noone is getting rich selling the IOUs - 347BTC total volume on that screenshot
in fact, the only way they can sell the IOUs is for an exhorbitant amount, they are in effect shorting so need a huge cushion in case Waves does defy the odds and open so high (almost no chance, but you remember the movie Dumb & Dumber?)

Best way to deal with Yobit is to blacklist their Waves ICO account and prevent them from withdrawing from the light wallet

I was only messing! Really though Yobit hasn't actually done anything wrong have they? Maybe morally but that's about it!

Yobit doesn't force anyone of us to go there. Whoever does is doing it through his/her free will.

The fact that Yobit, Kraken, Gatecoin etc. sell IOU's before launch of new ICO projects isn't really news. No idea why this warrants any attention. exactly. its not new, not the first time, not the first token, not the first exchange doing that, neither something special or scary, or fishy, or worth mentioning, nor something to warn from, or scamy or whatever fill here in, nor something important, or a thing the waves team have to care about. lets go for the important stuff: where is the lite client? are we late? will there will delays? are we still heading for the 14th start trading
