Waves will be worth more 48hrs after release too many sellers first day to crucify the price. It will be a good day to be a buyer getting my Bitcoin ready
True for every ICO. First 48 are people that just want to take any profit and are scared to hold. Next 5 days is a slight spike, then plateau before the real rise.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Do you think that the price will drop first ? Releases on the exchanges normally follow the same pattern. Coins dumped into high sells, dumping down to almost-ICO prices, then rising, the dipping agin, then settling down. Then rising with time. In WAVES's case, I think it will be a good steady rise after the initial fluctuations. But yes, unpredictable and anything can happen in crypto Not sure about your 'almost ICO prices' since it hasn't happened in any of the serious ICO's. I would say 1. Price rockets to 10-20x ICO minutes after trade start. 2. Price slowly moves towards 3-4x ICO first day. 3. Price recovers to 6-7x ICO next 4-5 days. 4. Price settles around 6-7x ICO while direction is found. This has been the case for ETH, LISK etc.

I thought it was the 14th for launch. Why are people saying today??
14th is when trading starts on exchanges. Waves *might* be able to be withdrawn before then. It was planned for today, but its a shifting target. I am guessing only a few people will be able to withdraw before we hit the exchanges. I saw hints of that in Sasha's latest comment. If they don't allow withdraws from non-insiders until the 13th that would be unfortunate.

Yes of course, the bounties are going to get dumped really quickly. But you could even look at that positively. It's a chance to get more Waves for cheap if you didn't participate in ICO or aren't pleased with your current amount.

Thanks for sharing! I have waited for this information since some time. I have never found an exact date when mainnet will finally start. Now, I can prepare myself to get the ICO coins and transfer them to the exchange. Waves alpha mainnet launch timeline
Our ICO is over and now it’s time to proceed with the network launch. As you probably have already noticed we’re always trying to move fast. But at the same time we need to make sure that everything works properly, which is especially important for decentralized p2p networks such as blockchain systems. We need to be certain that the network is stable and we accounted for all the future developments.
So the timeline for the next several days is the following:

Do you think that the price will drop first ? Hard to tell. There will many that want to buy and short traders that will settle with a little bit of profit. So it will fluctuate real hard the first day at least. really need to set your buy orders on launch day to catch the fast dips, but still have BTC ready for some market trades. JMHO
