My Waves balance hasn't declined much, ICO slowing down?

To a crawl. 4,683 BTC were raised in the first 24 hours. Today the total raised is 5162. So yeah, the ICO went from hare to turtle after the first day.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/waves-raises-2m-24-hours-bid-take-permissioned-blockchains-1554785

Yup, that's why it makes no sense to have 7 week ICO's. People buy at the first bonus day and at the last day to increase their coins. Two weeks should be enough.

I thought a 4 week ICO was a little strange, regardless I threw some btc this way, would hate to miss the train.

...
if you are happy with your answer, than we should be too.
...

jl777 is neither the lead developer,  neither the owner of this ICO/startup. Valuating the profitability and legitimicy of the startup because of a single tech consultant is just trolling in general. Also let's be real here, he is very knowledged in the crypto field.

My previous comments still stand ground, I could start taking apart your LISK investment and their developers history in crypto in 5 minutes of google searching, but that won't give you an entirely accurate picture on its profitability or if you get rekt or not.

You can find flaws in everything, this venture has not even begun and you are theorycrafting and attacking with a (not-so) hidden agenda.

We all heard your stance, now go back to the LISK thread where you came from and enjoy your investment. You don't have to comment here for your free tokens, you can do it there aswell.

traumschiff, please do not forget that most of us are striving for collaboration to facilitate innovative development Cool

Be understanding towards LISK, they are trying to build something interesting just as Waves is trying to do.

I saw some posts and read that Waves are like Ripple service, which has some support from banking industry, right?

So, how is Wave going to be any different than Ripple?  I understand it will use token technology to trade currencies and possibly other securities,  btc, or altcoins?

How is it any better than Ripple?  Does it bring anything new or innovation to table?

We will start uploading GUI next week. Initially only two or three tabs will be available in Waves lite client - Balances and History are the most important, Exchanges tab is most complex one. Then we will implement Voting and Messaging as soon as the functionality is stable in testnet.

Cool! Looking forward to testing things out. Cool

I have no problems with LISK (I'm happy ETH gets serious competition), their developers have a crypto history aswell as any developer here in the scene. Every competent developer who took part in this scene for a longer time has some form of mud to their name, failed projects, not satisfied investors. This is a grey area, nothing is guaranteed to profit or to work even. But then there are people like him who instantly forget their investments weaknesses and past history and troll other threads, they are the source of the problems.

I hope they find a way to recover your coins. You may want to check out the program KeePass if you use Windows. It's free and you can store all of your passwords. All you will need to remember is the password to access the database. Also, you can use a feature to tie the database to a file on your computer to make it even more difficulty for any hackers. What is great about it, is it can generate random passwords for each login that you have. However, if you allow it to generate your passwords for you, you may not be able access a webpage on the go.
I also like it because I can just blow in my username and password by pressing ctrl U. It defeats keyloggers.

Yes, I read those but still it does not really answer the advantage of using tokens, other than some generic assertion that its better.

So its better how?  It still seems to me that Wave is still facing same problem as Nxt or XRP or any others.  There isn't seems to be compelling advantage that will pave for mass adaption.

How seriously is WAVES taking privacy? Without privacy, there is no freedom.   A good strategy towards the principles of freedom and liberty embracing privacy ought to be kept in mind while developing the Waves next generation platform.

Above that Waves is on its own chain as for XRP, main differences are asset-asset trading and fiat tokens at launch as for NXT.

One of the advantages, from what I understand, is that we would be able to trade any currency, peer to peer, rather than relying on an exchange. With MT Gox, Cryptsy, and others, we know the disadvantage of going through an exchange the "seems" trustworthy.

Waves will have its own decentralized exchange, similar to the one that NXT has for example.

For depositing/withdrawing fiat on the platform, you will need to do KYC. For using crypto only, no.

My understanding is that Wave is a decentralized blockchain, unlike Ripple that is a centralized service where they ask for ID, can rollback transactions and inflate the token supply at will.
