I've seen worse, with no paranoid response from Bittrex with CANN.  That chain was down for a month and you could still exchange on the site, the entire time.

Calling it paranoid is being generous, considering the value changes that occurred for MEME during Bittrex's earlier hold on it.  Saying it's paranoid is operating under the kind assumption that it isn't a form of market manipulation

The main issue with the slow chain is that majority of stake weight is over on bittrex so anyone with wallets with a balance please open them and leave them open. We have a win wallet with updates coming and a couple features, we do need stakers to use them though

We're hitting stakes often, you can make more by breaking your coins into smaller inputs so they take turns staking more often, by sending to another address in the same wallet.

Bittrex helped move the chain by staking and disabled withdrawals, they stopped now and the network is still doing well. The alert message should be gone soon.
