this is my understanding that they are not going to call initial funding as "ICO" intentionally. But I can not recall.

What are they going to name it? anyone knows?
 

I think what they said was that they wanted somebody else to do the initial crowdfunding and that they would just be a service provider, but it seems 'The Dao' plan has been updated since then and it certainly looks to me like somebody is planning to sell the tokens for it.

I think we have to wait and see, but I haven't followed it closely enough to be sure that there isn't info out there I haven't seen yet

All the evidence thus far suggests it is. Lots of real persons with history in crypto and Bittrex being involved(although that, admittedly, is not the best evidence atm *cough*edoncoin*cough*)

And since there is no day 1 bonus, you have plenty of time to see whether something shady is going on.

they accept BTC and even some fiat currencies, through Shapeshift and other exchanges. i'm assuming the ETH/ IOU ratio of 100/ 1 is the same for BTC and fiat.
