Most common mistake is clicking on every link they can find,
i believe i was fooled this way few times but thanks god my btcs were secured.
It must be a good practice not to click any unknown URLs. Because there are lot of chances for trojan kind of malware to be injected into your computer or mobile.
I have seen many people who got resolution not to click any link even in the forum. They must be using online wallets and and not using any antivirus. But this must be a good resolution everybody needs to follow it to avoid getting into unnecessary trouble.

I think its sending BTC and then asking for exchange immediately when u dont know what confirmation is
Yes it is most common among many newbies. It is better to wait till 3 network confirmations for any bitcoin transactions. Even 6 confirmations also better choice if you are ready to wait more and even your buyer.
Yes the rushing towards without confirmation might be ended up with the double spending of same balance. I have recently faced this and the transaction was reversed.

Many members are investing in pre sale crowdfundings, i believe this is very dangerous,
especially now when everybody wants to have bitcoin.

I think newbie wants to grow his coins in a quick time so he chooses to go for gambling at the initial stage, as this is the most common mistake I have noticed, as I also did the same mistake when I was a newbie  Grin

Well, I did think this was gonna be more helpful than not, but once you receive information, place it in the OP so that we may be able to see that information clearer.

That's true majority of us have committed that mistake in the past, but the best thing is to learn from your mistakes and do not repeat the same in future.

I think one of them would be assuming how the system works. I'll admit that I've joined a lot of BTC sites not reading the rules. This time I read rules joining this new site.

Which other sites did you join? I've been meaning to get more BTC related sites to join.

Reddit, and Bitcoin Italia. I'm sure that you've heard of these ones. It's not as great as this forum anyway. I'm upset that I hadn't joined earlier.

I haven't heard of the Italian one, but what is the layout like? What are the rules? Are they any similar to this one?

No, not too similar. When I asked for where the rules were, somebody said to go to Meta and click the unofficial ones. One of them said that the moderators can interpret the rules as they wish so it kinda sounds like there's no rules and this site is like a free for all...

Not to say that I like that, but just to say that the fact that Satoshi was actually here is what makes this forum better to me.

Heh, yeah. The rules are completely nonexistent here. I don't think they realize how bad it is to not actually have concrete rules.

Trust me. They definitely realize it. They just want to give moderators the  opportunity to possibly abuse any kind of diplomatic community they might have here. I am hoping to find some kind of way to make that list of rules more substantiated than before. If I was to have that opportunity, the rules would really have nothing to do with moderators interpreting it however they please. They themselves would also have to follow cement planted rules.

I'll admit that the unofficial ones are a bit uncomfortable for me but I'd never imply that the moderators break rules.

Majority of newbies are involved in gambling as they want to multiply their coins in quick time and end up loosing everything.

Keeping the wallet safe if the first thing. since Newbie is new to this and can loss the little money he has. Always use Desktop Wallet.
Best one Electrum and bread wallet.

The detail what you are telling is true but i think even Desktop wallet can also be hacked if the link file is a keyloker file then the hacker can access your all details from your computer even the desktop wallet details also and then he will route all your incoming transaction to his wallet. So it is true that dont download the file if you fell that it is not safe.or else use the wallet in other desktop and use other desktop for this work.
