Newbies probably spend too much time on faucets and don't get much from them.  However, if the price of a bitcoin goes way up in the future, it could pay off some.

Faucets are good to start off, but if they spend much more time on gambling sites then that is something really to worry, as every one commits this mistake to make quick money.

I have to put it out there that you need to avoid listening to people on new sites you can earn free BTC or such in order to trade on obit.  I have been a member of them for some time now and I like it.  They have very few issues if any and they are great on fixing them.  Good luck.

The biggest mistake of anyone newbie or experienced is to fall for fast rich scams. Some scams are very sophisticated and some scammers will spend years to build trust and then disappear when they think they reached the maximum amount they can swindle.

Indeed, some newbie think that they can make money of trading after 5 minutes (except in some occasions). If you're going to do trading, you have to be patient. You should be able to hold on to your coin for an hour up to 2 days or maybe longer. Trading is not for impatient people.

Yeah it happens through scammed sites which go off without notification. Also I think most newbies who dream of being rich just losses everything through gambling without understanding the reality behind it.

I've been scammed a couple of times but my biggest mistakes have been buying a coin right at the peak price before it plummets. That happened a number of times when I first got in to Crypto but I've learned to be very cautious now and can read the buy/sell order books. Not saying I don't still make that mistake but at least I don't panic dump. I've learned that most coins will rise again.  Smiley

Yeah Electrum is the best wallet as it is very secure and safe and which cannot be hacked easily, so your bitcoin will be safe as a newbie he needs to take proper care at a initial stage.

What can you say about blockchain.info online wallet, if I use 2 factor authorization?

blockchain.info is a web wallet and that makes it unsafe because it is online and being online makes it easy for hackers to steal your secret information like password,... with things like phishing, malware,...

using 2fa makes it harder but it is not 100%
if you want to be sure, use offline (cold) storage.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Not only ponzi, by gambling also make you suffer of lossing no matter what method did they use.
I'm ever experience that : I'm deposit 0.01 and try to make 0.02 but I got busted by doing 90% chance of winning !

Nowadays, I think the most common mistake is not actually trying to figure out whether or not Bitcoin is right for you. Most people look at Bitcoin as a way to make money fast, when it is not at all. Then they get rather impatient and frustrated and it's not healthy. The false conception of being able to make money fast should probably stop.
