20k is pretty much if you ask me and I think you can make a lot of money with such amounts.
You should really full invest it in he bitcoin you will make profit for sure.
I think with the halving incoming and buying right now you can make huge amounts of profit.

I would split it and just put 10k on my bank account and with the other 10k I would invest in the bitcoin but also in the altcoins so you can trade them later for bitcoins.
Trading and holding the bitcoin can be very profitable so that is why you should do this.

That is a lot of money and that is quite nice if you are making an investment with Bitcoin and that is not that nice for the currency but maybe it would be nice if you can also make a lot of profit with it.
But saving money will be also nice because than you are also not lose that much money so you can earn more money later in the future.

Ethereum could either go to zero, or to the moon. Even if ETH goes to current BTC prices, you will make at about $500k from $10k investment.
I agree with you in the first part of your argument - definitely not pool mining. Your mining power will represent a increasingly lower share of the total hashing power in the BTC network. But with ether - I don't think it's going to go to the moon. I believe it has already achieved its highest potential. I don't see it'll ever make it over 0.05, or 0.1. BTC on the other hand, is a much safer bet for such a large investment of 20k. |

Investing in BTCi is a safer investment for now compare to the altcoins, however if you like a good profit and able to risk a huge amount of your BTC you can take advantage of the price swings of the ether, I just you do day trading as the price fluctuation has a large margin, I think it will go down again and will rise to 0.02 BTC over. |

It's better to hold till the halving and then make the investment. This would give the bulk investment a small additional profit rather than investing right now.

I've finally got around $20k to invest in long-term. No, unfortunately I cannot put this on a bank to get like 10-15% per year, I'd need something way more good.
What would you recommend? Mining? Other crypto?

i think that you shouldn't try mining as it is unprofitable now, it is too late to start mining bitcoins but you can try to mine other currencies, maybe that will give you profit and if you won't find where to invest you can just keep them, this way you will earn profit by doing nothing, keep them for halving atleast, you will get much more money then you have now |

Trading is the best way to invest cause you are in full control of your money, if you mange it properly it will double in a short span of time, and also while trading you can do also like signature campaign which does not require you to invest money but only time. |

Well I mentioned this before, but the whole $20k scenario to invest really depends on other elements.
1. Do you have any debts? if so, they are paid for..etc
2. Do you have all 1 years worth of rent/expenses after this $20k.
So lets just assume, all those situations were taken care of.. the obvious dead places would be investing at a service or something similar thats been on this forum forever.
Each would be approached differently, but overall would be the same. If they are not asking for investment money, how can you participate.
But knowing some off the bat, bitmixers website has a investment page needing I think $30-40k I forget. So if you save another $10k you can know its a secure spot based on their terms and make your own terms as well.

like everybody says, bitcoins mining is not for you, as it is too late and you won't get any profit, but etherium, might work as it is still new so you could jump in mining and maybe you will get profit or you can try to buy as much bitcoins as you can and keep them, as halving will happen in July so this will rise price of bitcoins for sure, so you will get lots of profit if you will buy bitcoins now |
